In the wake of City's disastrous performance at Plymouth, the team now move on to one of our biggest bogey teams at Fulham in the Carabao Cup. Wagner will certainly be looking for a response gain back some respect, even if not a victory. Fulham will most probably rotate players as will we. Wagner has already said that Sainz will play at least 45 minutes in a tough debut for him. My guess at the starting lineup would be: Long Fisher Batth Warner Placheta Forshaw McLean Hernandez Gibbs Sainz Idah
A win will certainly help our confidence. Completely outplayed on Sat, let's hope for a better performance. You can do it Rick
I think we were as much tactically outhought as outplayed Rick. A very naive performance I my estimation.
Unfortunatelty Batth is Cup-tied after playing in Sunderland's 1st round defeat to Crewe on penalties
One of the plus sides of the Caraboo cup over the last few seasons is we can't usually get a stream . Some of those that played Saturday will probably welcome a sit down away from the spotlight.
I hope McCallum starts, it doesn't feel right how ostracised he appears to be at the moment, having done very little wrong on the pitch as far as I have seen. He is struggling to even make the bench this season. Also think we should start Hwang, we desperately need to get him up to speed and integrated so that he can have an impact in games if Idah isn't.
42% of opposition attacks this season have been down our left side (25% centre, 33% right). Even allowing for the right-footedness of most players, you might think those percentages indicate opposition coaches' assessment of the relative strength of the Gibson, Giannoulis and Rowe threesome compared to Duffy, Stacey and Fassnacht? I'd like to have seen a left side of Batth, McCallum and Placheta tonight, but Batth is cup-tied unfortunately. [Edit] Did my maths again!
Don't care about the result this evening, however expect a much improved effort and attitude, hopefully Placheta with his energy and Forshaw with experience can provide this
The figures you quoted are not Maths they are numeric or arithmetical. Can’t see anything but a defeat by at least 3-0
Needed to be done , poor Hwang had a nightmare first start for the club & hopefully he isn't regretting his decision to sign for us
Glad to see Warner finally get a start and happy to see McCallum. Happy with the entire selection really, I imagine we will see Springett in the 10, unless Wagner wasn’t joking about Placheta playing as a striker option
Interesting one. Also strange that we recalled McCracken and yet Reyes makes the bench tonight or even starts
