You saying that as a criticism is highly ironic.

So what you’re saying is, you haven’t seen enough of him to know if he’s any good, but he’s faster, taller and better in the air than O’Nien?

Didn’t you also say that, when Ba was “average” (v Cardiff) and the team were, it wasn’t Ba to blame but the team? Yet when the team as a whole against Blackburn were poor, you will single out O’Nien? Somewhat hypocritical. Much like having a dig at someone for saying .I’m right you’re wrong”. Literally what you’re doing all through this. Anyone with a different opinion on O’Nien is wrong. End of story!

So he's cost us points, this season, and you've backed that up with evidence, from the Blackburn match, when we didn't lose any points <laugh>

If that's conclusive evidence, in your mind, you could convince yourself Harold Shipman was a great doctor ...

... 'Just think of the millions of people he didn't kill.'

Interesting discussion. Having watched our 2 young centre half's last night having a difficult game against Derby's well-built unit of a striker I would suggest they both are not ready to step into the team yet.

Triantis especially needs to learn to keep.his hands to himself when running with a player as he got away with a fair bit of shirt pulling when trying to get back goal side. They both have some good qualities but neither stood out as first team players getting some match practice in (imo)

Good post mate, thanks. Good to have first hand from someone watching. People sometimes forget that,as fans,we've watched hundreds of matches, and we know the game.

Sometimes its easier for lads to play in the first team with better players around them.

If you're blaming O'Nien for Cardiff you're really grasping at straws.

You seem to believe your endless campaign will actually succeed in getting in the players you want in the first eleven and having those you don't like dropped.

There's only a few dozen people on here none of whom you've convinced ...

... good luck with Mowbray and the club.

**** me it’s his man who scored. His man who didn’t even have to jump because he was too concerned with trying to cuddle him over the 10 yard run he made. If he’s not to blame then who is? Embarrassing. What kind of mentality is that when you’re scared to point out that someone’s at fault for a goal because he’s a nice lad yet you’re on here whinging about some of the new lads after you’ve seen 15 minutes of them?

Good point mate, and it's something which is often overlooked. It's easy to introduce young players into a side that is playing well.....Pep does it all the time.....not so easy for younger players to express themselves around players who aren't so good. I think that's one of the really good things about our current season....our young players are playing with freedom among other young players...without fear, all expressing their skills. Credit to TM for that.

I remember Ballard being way over the top with shirt pulling in his first game. Don't have a point to make it was just kind of funny to watch, he really wanted those shirts.

It's not ideal that neither Seelt or Triantis are ready but it's not a problem position, so they've got the luxury of time. Alese must be getting close to returning as well surely. Not sure if he'll be fighting O'Nien or Huggins for a spot.

O9 is a classed as a CB for us now whether you rate him or not

His best position in a lot of our views, and most importantly TMs view is as a CB so therefore hes a CB

Odegaards best posiiton is CM so hes a CM

Ronaldo best position was as a winger but hes now an out n out CF and has been for years

Players change position as they get older n more experienced

Couldnt care less whether you rate him or not, but hes classed as a CB now so we aint playing a CM at CB which you seem to mention all the time

Your comparison with your dog is a shocker!!

If players should always mark their man and prevent them scoring there wouldn't be any goals ever ...

... you're taking the concept of simplicity to new levels.

And you seem very bitter about the idea of someone being a decent person, weird.

I'm not whinging about new lads, you're becoming hysterical and putting words in people's mouths ...

... why not try this system for a change. 'READ - THINK - POST'.

Were you saying this before the Cardiff game where we had won 4 of the last 5, including smashing one of the promotion favourites with this so-called "lack of DM and CB"?

FWIW I was at the South Shields game and O'Nien wasn't "tortured" by anyone - not that preseason games can be used as any sort of barometer for league performances

He's gone out on a limb to criticise a player and assumed everyone would jump on and agree. No-one agrees, so he's doubling down on his efforts in an attempt to buy his way out of his bluff.

No-one is buying what he's selling

And your apparent fury at the way the club is being run is borne out of.....what? Results, league position, dreary play, lack of committment,no future prospects....what!?

I’ve been banging this drum for most of the 40 odd games he’s played at CB across a 350 game career, so yeah. I’ve also stated numerous times that it’s an unpopular opinion because people go on like a mother defending her child if you dare say he can’t defend.

He’s just not a good CB. I can admit when he has a good game but as soon as he makes a mistake people don’t want to know or point the finger at someone else yet when he makes a tackle he receives over the top praise as if it’s not a given that a defender should be making tackles/interceptions.

South Shields first 2 goals he played a massive part in or are they somehow someone’s else fault? Simple ball over the top and he’s struggling, as per, then falls to the ground and stuck a leg out and took the ball away from Patterson playing it into the path of their striker to tap home an open goal. Second goal he goes to close someone down and lunges in, gets turned and the lad finishes.

I only mentioned SS game because someone said Triantis looks poor for the u23s. Same calibre of match.

What annoys me is when people use a clip and say 'this is why he isnt a cb'. Every player in the championship will have moments in the game when they are poor or make basic mistakes - thats why thry are playing at this level

The clips from the blackburn for example, he had a few poor moments at the start of the game but o9 adapted and then was solid throughout. That doesnt fit his agenda though so doesnt mention the things o9 did well

Im not o9s biggest fan and i think there will be games this season where he will struggle against more physically direct teams however, hes been good so far this season and deserves his start

This whole 'id of used common sense and signed a cb n DM', thats not how transfers are done - really wish it was as simple as hes making out
