So having tried his best to get relegated with Everton it looks like Tom Davies will achieve this feat with Sheffield. Well done Tom, always nice to see someone achieve their ambitions.
Sheffield United. Sheffield FC play in the Northern Premier League, Division One, East. They are the worlds oldest football club, they deserve some respect.
At the time I thought 1-1 was a great result. But with how our respective seasons have started and how awful Chelsea are, 1-1 isn't really enough.
I am clearly a terrible judge of young players. First time I saw him play us in a Derby, I said to my bluenose mate that Tom Davies was some player and looked like their Gerrard! He did play Wel that day, obvs hyped up because it was the Derby.
If we are to compare at the end of this season the relative merits of our new "LFC 2.0" team to our most successful team I think it will be quite interesting. 2019 to 2020 LFC (CL winners and up to covid Premier league runaway leaders. Alisson Trent Matip VVD Robertson Henderson Fabinho Wijnaldum Salah Firmino Mane in the season 2019/20 we scored 85 goals and conceded 33 but those figures are massively covid affected later on. Salah got 23 total and mane 12 with firmino on 12. ox was 4th highest with 8! 2023/24 LFC 2.0 (still to be finally confirmed) Alisson Trent Konate VVD Robertson Szoboszlai Macallister Gravenberch Salah Nunez Diaz It will be interesting to see as things progress and really its not just an 11 man game but s 22man game so was 2020 all about 11 men? no. so which would be seen as a "better squad" I think 2024/25 team will maybe be better as it really gels but changes with salah and vvd are coming.
You're so right - I was just saying the same thing when out with my mates last night. Two points dropped that afternoon, for sure.
we fell apart after 20mins. we panicked cos james as running a bit and we really just self destructed. I put it entirely down to lack of preseason games to dial it in. very very few 90mins for anyone at al and only 4 45mins type of thing. they were pure **** but we let a very average 20 year old run the show and sterling have the run of the half spaces.
Salah taking most of the penalties... Nunez and Diaz might be ahead with the same opportunity... and that's no slight to Salah, he's been fantastic... just pointing out how Nunez (and somewhat quietly Diaz) have really been stepping up this season.
Thought Fernandes was really good in that second half, tbh. And Gallacher came into it too, and Sterling has been their best player this season from what I've seen on the telly, tbf. The rest of the team, apart from James who is injured (again) and Chilwell look bang-****ing-average, tbh.
slah hasn't had that many pens this season but anyway... they are doing ok. fernadez was alright but only cos we left him off to have it. Gallagher did better imo as thier DM. You are right sterling has been their best and only player this season which is hilarious given the abuse their own fans were giving him. (same for gallagher btw, all wanted him gone) They started with absolutely no look at what they had or where they were at, then spent a glut of money on a heap of "senior players", then thought that doesn't work so they went after world cup players then decided youth was amazing way to go. The result is massive waste and real money losses plus a squad that makes little no no sense either on paper or on the park. Again my Chelsea issues a) mendy? why? he was thier best keeper by a mile, not great on the ground but good keeper and they've ende dup with kepa then flogged him and got sancehz so got worse b) full backs are not real full backs imo, both wing backs at best and crocks. theirs just kids behind c) CBS they've bought masses and ended up with still silva in a 2 (disaster) with a kid.
whats most this season mean though? 2? salah missed one and put the rebound in yeah? then score at the weekend.
