We were really poor. Edozie & Stu tried to make things happen, but we barely created anything. Then as usual under Martin every time we lost the ball Boro countered and nearly scored. I think it could easily have been 3 or 4-1 to boro based on clear cut chances.
The sad part for me is that we went to the team bottom of the table and fielded a team that was set up not to lose, and then lost. We need one of our midfielders to be able to run the ball forward and change the impetus of our attack away from the tippy tappy slow play that allows defences to sit back and wait for the inevitable misplaced pass. Rishi Martin has been very complementary about the 3 that played midfield in our defeat at Boro, so they will probably get the nod against Leeds.
Not sure if that is a compliment or I am on the naughty step. The penalty wasn’t a penalty according to one of the Boro fans at football today. He reckoned it was a 50/50 tussle and the ball was nowhere near either of them.
