Hoping to see Lewis Skelly and Nwaneri feature in this game. They've been brilliant when they've played

I think one or both may be on the bench, but I’m doubtful either will feature unless we’re comfortably winning the game with 5-10 minutes to go.

Happy to see some changes for this game. We've got some injuries stacking up and this will be a chance to give some of our squad players some game time, which might come in handy if they need to fill in for upcoming PL games.

Saka is out of this one with a foot injury and might miss Bournemouth at the weekend too.

I realise it's not a popular opinion nowadays and I know it's the lowest of our priorities, but I would really like to see us win the League Cup. I've never seen us win it before. I've only seen us lose 3 finals (2007 vs Chelsea, 2011 vs Birmingham City and 2018 vs Man City). We've only won it 2 times in our history as well, so we don't have a great record in this competition. Would be nice to change that.

A trophy is a trophy at the end of the day and they are very hard to win, especially with how competitive it is at the top. I hope our second string side tonight can help us get through to the next round.

In all honesty, I'm expecting us to get knocked out because the players that will likely be featuring tonight have barely had any minutes and haven't had time to gel. But it would be nice to see us progress if we can do it.

It's not being televised in the UK, but it is in the USA and France (weird I know), so there should be some streams available.

Yeah I read the same, I'll have to look through my IPTV and see if I can find a foreign network. Will report back.

Just had a quick look at my EPG and so far I see beIN Sports Max 8 (France) - Bentford v Arsenal

Oh wow, Brentford have gone full strength. Wasn't expecting that at all.

Meanwhile, this is a very changed team - wasn't expecting to see Sagoe Jr start either, that's a huge surprise.

Based on the lineups both teams have fielded, I'm not expecting us to win at all - I'll be looking at individual performances and seeing how the likes of Sagoe Jr, Nelson, ESR, Kiwior and Havertz perform.

1-0! Nelson! Poor pass from Jorgensen, Nketiah intercepts, who rolls it into Nelson and Nelson slides it home.

Ooof! Almost 2-0! What excellent footwork by ESR who was close to finishing a move he started and Flekken makes a good save with his boot. Unlucky!

35 minutes gone and we’ve played much better than I expected I have to say. Technically secure with our passing, moving the ball well, creating some decent chances and haven’t really given any clear cut opportunities away. Some decent individual displays + good structure OOP.

And just as I say that, Brentford almost make it 1-1 <laugh> some lazy defending and a whipped ball finds Wissa in acres of space who puts it wide. Got lucky there.

Brentford starting to come into it now, need to stand firm.

    ESR and Nketiah playing well.

Havertz really does play like he couldn't care less.

    HT. 0-1.

A real dominant half from a very changed Arsenal side. Our counter press has been superb and we’ve been forcing Brentford into mistakes. I do think we should have got a 2nd to emphasise our dominance, but as I said previously, we’re playing a lot more fluidly and with a lot more freedom than I thought.

Good displays from the defence + Jorginho, Nelson and ESR. Sagoe Jr has been a bit isolated but he’s shown some decent touches and some smart runs at times.

Need to see more from Havertz. He keeps taking the easy option instead of turning and driving with the ball when he receives it.
