My take on the Connolly seri spat, Aaron wasn’t having a go because seri slipped, he was ****ing annoyed because we were on the edge of their area in an attacking mode and seri sent the ball back to our goalkeeper, he’s a striker and any possible shots on goal they feed off them… That was my take on it, don’t shoot the messenger, it’s just my opinion or is that onion, I can never remember lol
Reflecting on yesterday, Stoke, like The Massive, were a couple of notches down from the other teams we've played so far. That's not to denigrate our performance, I thought we were excellent but they were there for the taking. Morton and Seri worked well and I thought Slater played well in the new role. He is the type of player that successful clubs have; flexible, hard working, effective without necessarily looking like the standout. At the moment our paucity of forwards isn't hurting us but we are just an injury away from that being a problem. We are looking strong for options in most positions though. I like the look of Lokilo but can't at the moment see him getting more than the late sub shoring up role that he's currently getting. Sayyadmanesh is going to struggle to get on the pitch at the moment but, again, given a few injuries he may come into his own. It's good to have such strength in depth. The icing on the cake will be if Sinik comes good. I'm skeptical but you never know.
If I was a keeper I would stand still for most of the penalties - you have to dive sometimes else the kicker will know your plan. So many penalties are easily saved because they are down the middle, slightly to one side or not hit hard. There's little chance of saving if somebody takes them like Kane - even if you dive the right way.
“Best team won by a mile” according to disheartened Stokies yesterday. Hard to disagree eh… Forza CITY.
Rosie on Seri and Connolly... “They were arguing and they want to win, and I love it. I’ve been asking for them to argue with each other for a whole year since I’ve been here," the Tigers boss told Hull Live. “You need to be demanding with each other; they argued as they were walking off the pitch and then they hugged and made up and they’re best mates again. That's what it takes. You need to demand from each other, you need to fall out with each other at times because it makes each other better and makes you successful. "I said to Ben Warner (analyst) in the dressing room, it’s perfect and that’s the mentality I want. I had many arguments with Paul McShane when he got promoted, or Alex Bruce or David Meyler - you need to argue if you want to be successful."
Looks like Slater’s getting to keep the goal. Was there an angle that was definitive about whether the shot was on target or not?
I really dont understand this hatred for Leeds United and Sheffield United I do understand it for Sheffield Wednesday though.
I think it's best to mix it up. Long balls can work. City now seem to play the ball to touchline more now or to other defenders when there's no pressure. My complaints were mainly about taking risks right in front of goal.
There was aalso a clear foul in the penalty area and VAR said no penalty. I hope these are looked at by the guys in charge and get it sorted.
On-field refs need to be stronger. They need to stick to their guns more often and tell the VAR refs they are wrong sometimes
The 5th yellow gets taken off and you just get one game for a red, and back to 4 yellows. But he’d have got another one fairly quickly anyway no doubt.
Isn't it 1 game for reaching 5 yellows and it could be 3 games for a red? or is that just a straight red?
