We're basically Championship Chelsea. Wonder if they'd be up for a manager swap?

Although I dont believe RM is the man to take us forward, I have zero belief that SR could pick a new guy moving forward! I have got to the point that I don’t feel mad or angry at how the clubs being run. Never felt this way about my club before. I’m at a stage where I find it funny how people with so much money make such poor decisions. I feel we are going to go the way of Blackburn and Birmingham and just be stuck in this league for the foreseeable future.

Let’s not forget that we in theory had a head start on this too given we were so bad last season that we were relegated nice and early. Still managed to seemingly get pretty much everything wrong again though. Doubt they’re even considering changing the manager yet given their track record tbh. Just got to trust the process…

When there is a change, I feel it will be more wide-ranging than replacing the manager. I think the team appointing the manager will be replaced but an unsuccessful campaign in 2023/24 will probably make SR lose interest.

Yeah if we don’t go up this season or next then we are far more likely for our next league to be league 1 than the PL.

Only comparable owners are the Venky’s.

Not sure I’ve ever seen owners **** it up this badly apart from them. It’s a catastrophic clusterfuck at every level so far.

(Chelsea’s new owner could possibly join us. Looking at their fixtures they may be in the relegation zone at Christmas if they keep this up. Ha)

Exactly how I feel and what I fear. They will leave it too late, then replace him with a trendy fresh face who is equally ****. As the seasons go on any advantage goes and we become one of the regular pack. Expectation of promotion becomes hope of promotion, which turns to an outside chance which turns to unlikely.

The similarities between us and Chelsea are quite notable actually. Spend money, become ****, have zero team cohesion.

Go and get Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Can you seriously see either of them coming here?

Liam Rosenior will be the next manager, if he wants it

RVN if we insist on being hipster. Or even pry Pires away from Arsenal.

Lopetgui if we decide we're being serious.

I dunno. Probably not, but money talks.

There's plenty of options out there - from Scott Parker, to Igor Tudor, to Marcelino.

I can’t see Lopetegui or RVN dropping to second tier side.

Scott Parker was one of my thoughts back in the summer, could see him doing well enough here. My dad follows Bournemouth as well as Saints and absolutely hates him, not entirely sure why.

Cos every team that gets relegated to the third tier goes bust of course.

There'll always be enough support in this City to sustain a football club.

Not every club has a 32,000 seater stadium or players on big wages. We wouldn't go bust straight away of course but it would be essential we got promoted straight away otherwise we would be in the ****. I'd loathe being back in League One anyway.

Sunderland spent four years there after a double relegation with a huge stadium and wage bill and didn't go bust. We'd be fine as with the infrastructure we have there'd always be someone willing to take us on at that level.

I'd love it tbh. No international breaks, first round of the cup and even further from PL meaning I might never need to watch a Prem match again. Some fun aways too.

Don't think it's very likely anyway tbh.

Sunderland have a much bigger/ loyal fan base than ours.
I know plenty who deserted ST Mary’s whilst In league 1.

We still averaged just over 20k didn't we? Pretty decent for a club which didn't regularly sell out its ground in the Prem.

Would likely still be one of the best supported clubs there.
