Portsmouth are making the short voyage from the south coast with new manager Michael Appleton. WATFORD ⢠The Manager â Sean Dyche View attachment 8340 âYou want everyone available. The best time for me is when everyone is fit and I have to pick a team â that is an enjoyable challenge. Although it is easier to pick the team in terms of numbers, you want as many of your quality players available as possible.â âPlayers that were held back for different reasons are looking more ready and they have gone and delivered. That has coincided with a few injuries so there has been a positive twist to a negative situation with the fact that players have got their opportunities and taken them so far.â ⢠The Hornets Scott Loach Lee Hodson, Nyron Nosworthy, Adrian Mariappa, Carl Dickinson Mark Yeates, Jonathan Hogg - caution 75 mÃn., Prince Buaben, Troy Deeney for Michael Kightly - goal 2 mÃn 84 mÃn. I think that relates back to the players, because thereâs a real good sense of feeling and they want to push on and do the best things they can.â âObviously results dictate that, so ultimately the first aim I have is breaking this hoodoo of not winning games away from home.â ⢠Pompey Stephen Henderson Greg Halford, Ricardo Rocha, Jason Pearce, Benjani Mwaruwari for Tal Ben-Haim - 46 mÃn Joel Ward, Hayden Mullins, Abdul Razak for Norris - 71 mÃn., Erik Huseklepp Dave Kitson - caution 57 mÃn., Luke Varney Substitutes: Jamie Ashdown, Benjani Mwaruwari, Aaron Mokoena, Abdul Razal and Nwankwo Kanu Update on the Pompeyâs latest statistics Who will win? Current form Strange is the need for teams to have a rest because of an international friendly or two, anyway Watford have two wins from three with the defeat at Middlesbrough caused by a disputed goal. The visitors have a win a draw and a defeat in their last three, which held a few more goals than the hosts matches although Watford played two games at home and Pompey one. Akureyri's Prediction: 1-1 Watford will struggle against a Portsmouth company who are looking to impress their new manager. . skál/skÃ¥l/cheers/salut Don't forget The Hornet's Nest on the BBCâs 606 or not606 Drop in for some match chat. Nicely done AK. As usual its 5*'s. I know bookies have this down as a no-score draw but i can see this being an interesting game, the last two games i remember between us at the vic were 3-0 and 4-2. There were a couple of screamers scored both times, including this one
Nice Job Ak thanks gonna go with a 1-1 on this one I think the travelling support will be the 12 man!
I'll stand by my WPL score of 2-1. All the goals in the first half and a nail biting last 10 mins to hold onto all 3 points, basically 'The Watford Way'.
3-1 to the Golden Boys, we shall be far too strong for the at our fortress! Did that sound convincing, I have gone for a 3-1 win on the WPL but it is a glass half full day
I notice Eustace is available again....personally I'd stick with Hogg and the Prince. The worst thing to do would be to play Hogg and Eustace.
I would agree there BerksHorn. We have all cried for an attacking presence in the team and Prince seems to be able to provide that. To then stick 2 defensive players in the center, one of which has lost what little pace he had, is silly. Lets hope SD shows a back bone and sticks with a team that has won the last 2 games at home and deserved a cleansheet point at the riverside.
Ak, you should invite the losing side into the match thread as well If Dyche's mindset is "Eustace and one other in the existing system" we will probably end up with Eustace-Hogg. Unfortunately, I think that may well be the way he goes.
Ha! Jonathan Hogg- what a negative player he is. Drove us nuts last season. Did'nt want to take any sort of responsibility so just went sideways and backwards. ...and as for Dicko League One at best.
Does Ak realise he's left Pompey out of the match thread? Apart from that, it's top notch as always Ak I hope Hogg and Prince can stay together, Eustace hasn't been as quick this season, and Hogg is working really well..
Your the 3rd person to give a reminder ffd Hogg has had a good last couple of games and may be keeping the captain out the side ! Dicko is a big improvement for us at LB considering before him we didnt have one !
I see that SD is sending out a rallying call to the fans. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/15791367.stm I think that the Pompey lot will be noisy, can the Rookery do their bit by stirring up the Rous?
Always hopeful Norway. It does depend quite a lot though on what happens on the pitch. A good showing from the team can wake some up from the over generous lunch they had on the way to the ground. Of course I would not include theo amongst the slumbering lot.
