Even if, over the course of 46 games, things did turn around and Martin somehow took us up, his style would be destroyed in the PL. He wouldn't survive 5 minutes. I'm totally fine with us getting rid.
Deluded prick. Where was this so called scar tissue when we were unbeaten for the first 4 games of the season? Half of this side had nothing to do with last seasons catasprohpe. Face it Russ, it's not working.
That is dire logic and poor man management. Surely in that scenario you look to bring the player in to the fold, not push him out. Ok he is a professional footballer on an obscene amount of money to do something we would all love to do if we had the ability. He is also a 20 year old young man who has moved across the world for the first time and doesn't speak the same language as his team mates. Unless he is an outright arrogant prick, he needs an arm around his shoulder not to be told he is untrustworthy via the media. Then add in the fact he is doing this to arguably our most naturally gifted player and this attitude will surely push him closer to the exit door rather than inspire him. I have to be honest the more I think about it, that is actually very very poor and I dont just say that because I am pissed off at Saints in general, its unacceptable in its own right. It makes me think he is fostering a clicky atmosphere at the club and that kind of thing rarely ever works in any professional environment.
His response to the last three games in particular has made me question his technical ability as much as the results. We lose four on the trot, I want to be hearing technical reasons behind what isnt working and what he is going to fix. Not emotional buzzwords like 'belief' 'trust' 'courage', rightly or wrongly that just makes me think he doesn't know what is going wrong and he hasn't got a plan to fix it.
Seriously, what kind of message does this send out to Charly? He won't play him because he doesn't speak English? Well, how about you learn Spanish then Russell.
Not seen todays game but sounds like more of the same and no hint of change from Martin. If Martin is sticking with this and isnt willing to adapt then he needs to go.
It's all total f*cking made up bollocks. Any excuse he can pluck out, he will. If a player is good enough, stick him on the f*cking pitch. When Martin goes, the incoming manager is going to make it look so simple in comparison. I absolutely hate this prick for not playing Charly. No sympathy whatsoever for him. Arrogant c*nt.
Even in the f*cking 90s clubs used to bring in translators to help foreign players. And it's only Spanish, not Mandarin.
I rarely ever back a player over a manager, but if Martin is a threat to Alcaraz staying at the club its another reason he needs to go.
I agree. But given that we lost our PL status largely because of Jones and Selles, losing Alcarez because of Martin would just be a continuation of SR's total incompetence. For anyone banking on Solak taking swift action due to wanting an immediate return to the PL, I'd suggest looking at how little we spent over the summer in comparison to what we received. It hardly screamed pushing the boat out. Lowballing Sunderland with a £5m bid for Roberts...seriously?
I still think the summer business was sound really. And I also think the strategy of loaning in players rather than buying them is also sound. The talent in the squad really doesn’t seem to the be issue
I said I was finished with it and I am - but I'm back for this post. Brillant, absolutely fantastic comment and I doff my beanie with a flower on the front to you. Oh I cannot watch streaming ice hockey in the place of the laughable football because my team's ice rink was flooded in the recent storms, and wrecked and the club might go out of business.....so it's me, I'm the one that makes it crap. If someone shot me I wouldn't blame them.
