Martin continually talks about bravery and how the players’ mistakes are down to them not being brave enough.
Well today the biggest bottler was Russell Martin.
We have gone to the team that was rock bottom of the table and depleted of confidence and instead of picking a team to get at them Martin has chosen a team bereft of flair players and picked a team that he thought wouldn’t lose.
Talk about handing the initiative to the other team.
We absolutely must find room for Alcaraz and/or Stuart in the starting line up to give us some unpredictability and I don’t think Fraser offers more than Edozie.
Be brave enough to do one Russell.

Imo the other problem is that I don’t see this style working with the players we have, no matter the time thrown at it.

Even if it does come with time, Blackmore said before the game ‘ok it might take time but do the results have to be bad along the way’ I very much agree with that sentiment.

Yeah as I said after the Ipswich game he’s trying to implement his style into a team/club that has been **** for a number of years and has no confidence. His style entirely relies on confident players wanting the ball in uncomfortable situations and all knowing their roles.

He’s tried to implement the full style immediately where as he should’ve tried a more gradual approach imo. Let this team play some semblance of his possession style and win a few games, build up a bit of confidence and then add more and more elements into it over time.

Most of the goals we’ve conceded are self inflicted where defenders are trying to play out when there are no options to do so. That is a coaching issue as either another player isn’t in the right place to receive the ball the defender is looking to play, or the defender is told to never look long and always try and keep possession, probably a mixture of both.

It’s too much too soon and a lot can be said for just keeping it simple and having a solid shape to make it hard to score against us. I still think, on paper at least; we have one of the best back 4s in the league. Build from that and then let our flair attacking players (also very good compared to most other groups in the league) try and win.

We just give a goal away and teams then can sit back if they like and let us pass it round doing **** all as they remain in shape and solid. He probably scored loads as Swansea and MK Dons manager as a number of teams would attack them as they weren’t particularly good sides in their respective divisions. Most teams are going to be wary of us because of the talent we have so will look to defend first and foremost and then we give them a goal

****ing hell I’ve turned into Ian with post length

I didn't like the idea of stealing Luton's manager, didn't like staying Swansea's. I just want us to hold for someone currently unemployed. I don't know why. Karma maybe.

Yeah Carrick was my shout too. We totally f*cked it all up.

Fair enough.. With these parameters maybe Scott Parker?

Plenty of experience winning this league, but is a bit of a tool.

Now call me a conspiracy loon but there has to be something more at play here. Every manager has turned to absolute **** under SR
Ralph
NJ
Selles
Martin

Law of averages state at least one of those should be a half decent fit, but they're not or were not. Something is definitely being dictated from above in terms of play/tactics. This constant attempts to copy Man City must be from them

I know I keep banging this drum and I will leave it after this* but the only consistent through all those managers and this record setting points/wins total is SR. This is 100% on them and this is why I think we'll be stuck with Martin all season. They're not going to admit they're wrong again and they're not going to pay 3/4 managers contracts at once.

*probably won't. They're ****s.

If, as Chairman of a club, you have three opportunities to bring in a new manager, and they are all as bad as ours have been, you simply have to pack your bags and sod off.

Because if you can't recruit someone suitable in that position, you won't be able to do it in any position; players, scouts, coaches whatever.

Yeah see I wonder how and if Rasmussen gets jogged on in all this, he has been by far the worse thing I can ever recall about our club, and I’m no spring chicken I can tell you.

Is there a point where Solak says, nah **** this ****, you’re the reason all me monies are gone.

Still can't get over this clown putting Aribo on the pitch instead of Alcaraz.

That has to go down in f*cking Southampton folklore as one of the worst ever decisions. I don't care if Charly can't speak the language, at least he can play the game.

We are so broken.

Oh and Pompey won again.

I can see Solak binning Martin and whoever chose him/Jones/Selles. Why take the Chair unless you were unhappy in the first place and wanted to be in a position to directly influence. There's no doubt in my mind that Solak wants us back up this season and I think he'll react quickly.

This post was brought to you with the aid of several cans of IPA and as much wishful thinking as I could possibly muster after witnessing another delivery of ****e on toast.
