Why on earth did they let him go ...

    ... then buy inferior replacements.

Jobes last game was his best to date, the fit is right and its beginning to show, no stopping a huge talent in the right hands, his and our future is bright. Watched Brun v QPR last night and wondered how Stansfields season will go in comparison. . Did he make the wrong choice I wonder only time will tell.

Let's not pretend he's going to be here for years. We're a stepping stone on his way up. He'll be off in a couple of years to bigger things, unless we go up this year and immediately start challenging for Europe, which with the best will in the world seems unlikely.

Which is fine, it's part of the model, and we get to enjoy watching him now.

Don't think they had much choice. I think he was coming here either on his first pro-contract (He was up here meeting with Speakman etc... before he signed pro-deal there) or Brum agreed to let him move for a decent enough fee.

Jobe and jude both were loyal to Brum in that way making sure they got a fee but when their progression would be best served elsewhere they moved. Jobe will do the same with us before he is 22 imo, 2 or 3 season maximum out of him and he will be going to a team qualifying for europe for decent money. Won't hit the heights of his brother but will still be top few teams in a country potential.

Jude used Dortmund as a stepping stone to Madrid I can see teams like Dortmund, Spurs, Atletico being the level that Jobe hits top teams and there or there abouts but not dominating their domestic leagues!

Serious potential. He’s started well here, a lot better than I was expecting.

I wasnt expecting this big an impact so soon. Maybe that is forced by needing to play him up front. I still see a player with a lot of naivety on the pitch, which is exactly what you would expect. His attitude seems spot on though and he seems to be lapping up the lessons. Will be interesting to see where he goes in terms of positions. He isnt close to Neil or Ekwah yet in terms of ability or contribution deeper. Pritchard and Dack offer things in a 10 he doesnt. I think he probably sits out more when injuries subside, but if his attitude is as they say he wont be far off making it back in quickly. I have said elsewhere we have some players who play whatever, because there is no competition close enough. Neil and Ekwah are in that category. Jobes job is to push and push to give Mowbray a headache there, or in a 10 against Dack and Pritch.
