You must be equally baffled about how the surviving members of the Beatles, Led Zep and all the other notorious hotel trashing and womanising bands from the 60s onwards are still yet to be cancelled and put through the court of public opinion then.

I see there's an allegation from 2003 now reported to the police.

I also see that YouTube have demonetized him. Based on allegations, not charges, not convictions.

Concerning, whichever opinion of him you have. Don't agree with a Youtuber's opinion? Make an allegation. Doesn't matter if it's true or not, you're completely anonymous after all. Problem solved.

Another thing conspiracy theorists will grab onto with both hands.

This has to be one of the stupidest, most insensitive, mind-numbingly dumb statements put on the internet. Ever. Well done.

Apparently Brand is innocent unless proven guilty.

The women are guilty without a trial.

Someone has serious issues with women ...

... so does Brand, two peas in a pod.

I'd like to know his opinion on the woman allegedly raped by Brand in LA years ago who immediately reported it to the authorities, told friends, went to the Rape Crisis centre, was medically examined for confirmation of the sexual activity and underwent years of counselling as a result. Gold digging bitch?

That's an interesting one. Decided not to press charges according to the LA Police Department.

The question is why. The 'scared to report it' reasoning, which can legitimately be applied to other potential victims, doesn't hold here, because she did report it.

I'm still baffled as to how this level of misbehaviour didn't come out during Me Too when people were being accused of far less left right and centre. He must have been the easiest of easy targets.

Every time I see a new clip of him I'm reminded of this comment. The first interview I saw, he described the accusations as "baroque"... which makes literally zero sense in the context - it means "relating to or denoting a style of European architecture, music, and art of the 17th and 18th centuries" <doh>

Just seen another clip where he claims his transparency has been "metastasized" into something criminal. I think he is using the word in place of "transformed" but... That's not what it means. It essentially means "spread", but referring specifically to cancer cells. The cancer bit I suppose he could argue is a metaphor (although even that doesn't really work), but the underlying meaning of "spread" instead of "transformed" means the word is completely out of place, even allowing for the wonky metaphor.

In short, the bloke just likes to use big words to make himself sound intelligent / superior. You'd think if he was planning on using them in a public address he would at least have a quick glance at the disctionary first, though <doh>

Using the word baroque was truly idiotic wasn't it.

There's no possible way to make it work in any way ...

... except it rhymes with cock which is basically what he is.

The word baroque, as I understand it, was initially a negative one. For some time it was used to describe contorted ideas e.g. In art terms Baroque for some time had some challenging perceptions but subsequent to the period has been reframed somewhat. I have no idea how Brand used it, and I doubt he is half as clever as he thinks he is. One of the least likeable people to have been on my tv I would say, but maybe he is random enough to make some weird connection with this word and think he is being clever. I agree with you, it is entirely out of context and idiotic, very much like Brand himself.

The bloke comes across as someone I would quite probably want to smack if I ever met him in real life. If I was stuck in a room for 72 hours with just him, one of us isn't coming out alive. Throw in a gun, and not sure if I'm blowing his brains out or my own

    But

Innocent until proven guilty needs to be upheld

Anonymous until proven guilty needs to be implemented

More grist to the conspiracy theorists' mill

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-66875128

MPs writing to social media companies trying to cut Brand's money off based upon just allegations is really disturbing.

Rumble quite rightly telling them where they can go.

He's a man who is not as clever as he thinks he is. He has uttered this type of drivel before.

A few years ago, and approaching an election, he declared he was getting involved to, "enervate the campaign". He meant energise, enervate of course meaning the opposite. But he'd heard an unusual word and though he could impress by hoying it in.

Absolute talent vacuum of a human.

Appearing to be eloquent, and to be the new Oscar Wylde, can easily fool the gullible ...

Not sure why he's even mentioned tbh.

Some people are so ideologically captured they have to wedge their sixth form politics student hot takes into every conversation, I suppose.
