Finally got my pot off now and in a Moon boot. Ive even been to the gym today and feel like ive been given a whole new lease of life.

As many have seen the 6 weeks in a pot, none weight bearing and coming out a relationship nearly tipped me over the edge.

Onwards and upwards now though, thankyou for all that supported me at rock bottom, ill never forget it. X

What was the injury mate?

What was the injury mate?

I ruptured my Ligament and chipped a bone in 2009 mate playing footy, and stupidly went on hol the same day later on that evening without getting it seeing to.
When i came back a week later i went straight to a&e and got a bollocking and because it was already healing naturally they said i left it too late...

Fast forward 14 years ive had a Plastic support and 2 brackets fitted. 5 years ago it really started playing up again bad and giving way on me constantly causing pain that i cant even describe. I even had to stop playing footy with my lads because of it.

How long is the total recovery time mate? Do they expect it to go back to pain free?

Im 6weeks in now mate and with my moon boot quite comfortably walking again. I reckon another 3 weeks and ill be back at work. I do quite a physical job otherwise it could have been sooner.

Have you injured yourself mate?

I’ve injured my ankles playing football 3 or 4 times. The pain when walking on an injured ankle is terrible. I couldn’t walk without crutches for 2 weeks last time, so I can’t imagine the pain you’ve gone through with that one!

My other one is fecked aswell mate. Ive lost count the amount of times ive gone over on both over the years playing football.
I reckon ill need the next one doing at some point aswell. My mate heard my ankle click when doing this one from about 100 yards away. It still brings tears to my eyes. As a young lad i wasnt going to give a holiday abroad up though haha.

I remember locals staring at me up and down from my ankle to my face in disbelief whilst trying to limping about.

It was like a balloon.

I broke my ankle playing football when I was at uni, but didn't realise it. I thought it was a sprain as I could put weight on it and move in it, but it had a hair line crack which healed on its own.a couple of years later when it was giving me some problems, so I went to the doctors about it, got referred to hospital and had it identified. It's not too bad as I can still move around ok, but I do have a dull ache in it most of the time and it's worse in cold, damp weather, but no and again I get a sharp pain in it like someone sticking a screwdriver in it, so I can only imagine how painful yours is. Good luck for your recovery, mate and don't push yourself too hard.

which hurt a bit when I lost a fight with some concrete and there was quite a bit of blood, but I returned to footy again last Sunday with no side effects . . . . apart from an aching back.
We can laugh at things later . . . . 'cos they generally get better :emoticon-0148-yes:

Good lad. Keep going mate. Been non weight bearing three times due to injury, bloody miserable. On top of everything else for you mate it is rough. Light at end of tunnel now though. The lads are turning on the style as well - doing wonders for my mood now and hope they are for you.
