Aside from the game how nice was it to see a full ground? Not so long ago we had 10k under the Allams and all of it looked lost. Brilliant time to be a Hull City supporter!

If Ozan is fit he starts ahead of Twine for me. Maybe bring Morton in on Sunday as well. I can't watch that miss again - it gets worse every time I see it!

Tufan for Twine and Morton for Slater for me.

Morton shows for the ball all the time, in the last two games Slater's been hiding from it (really annoyed me last night how many times he positioned himself with a player between him and the ball, rather than moving into space).

Traore brought everything we lacked in terms of passing and creativity. Everyone will focus on the miss, rightly so, but other than that he looked back to his best in terms of touch, dribbling and passing. To say he supposedly had malaria last week too

I'd be happy with either starting TBF.

I saw a clip of his miss from the view Allsop would have had, and the cross from Connolly did slightly go past him, which in some ways accounts for why he missed. He still should have scored, but it maybe was slight more difficult that at first sight.

It was one of those where it’s so easy, he thinks he’s scored before he actually has and that causes him to relax slightly and that opens his foot out marginally and it’s just enough for it to hit the post and bounce away.

Would like to see Tufan and Delap as the front 2 again. Connolly has been great so far, but I think when he leads the line we look a lot worse in front of goal. Delap brings pace, hold up and creativity. Tufan is our best finisher too.

Personally, I think that from a confidence perspective Traore has to start Sunday. To have hit sat on the bench is A0 a waste and b) would send out the wrong message. But note to LR, he is not a right winger,

On Morton a left field thought. I know he's only a young lad but he shows fantastic signs. If you were the club, would you be making an all out effort to tell him/ show him how important he is to the project, to a point that he loves it here. Then go to Liverpool and say look, you want him playing he is here, we will do a similar deal with you to Villa and Philogene. As it stands at Liverpool, they will always be signing a foreign name in what might be his position and even now Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones and is it BAjcetic only get minutes and usually when they're winning...

Can't agree with that John. They really don't come much easier than that. Connolly literally put it on a plate for him. No excuses whatsoever, it was an horrendous miss. And Traore knew it (from his reactions even after the final whistle).
On another day, Connolly might have shot and most likely scored, but he did the right thing at the time. Unfortunately Traore inexplicably ****ed it up.

That is very very wrong, but ...
... that's true as well. Don't know if he's lost a little confidence, but he was definitely hiding from the ball last night. Surely has to be time to put Morton in his place, providing he's fit enough now to play from the start.

Perhaps its a realisation that he's going to get overtaken.

I’m a big fan of Morton (saw a lot of him at Ewood last season and was really happy that we got him) but to be fair to Slater, it’s hard to compare because Morton has come on in games where we’re on top and pushing for a win and the opposition are sitting back and letting us have plenty of the ball.
I tended to think the opposite, that Slater was trying to find space and when he did get the ball he was looking to move things forward but there wasn’t anyone getting into space to receive the ball. I think this is where Tufan comes in when he plays behind the centre forward, as he’s excellent at finding pockets of space and laying the ball off first time to players around him.
I also think we need to bear in mind that Slater is being asked to play a role, which isn’t necessarily his natural position, as he’s more of a box to box midfielder who likes to travel with the ball in attacking situations.
The great thing about Morton is that he has the all around game to play both Slater and Seri’s roles, so is a perfect fit for us but maybe just needs a few more 20 minute cameos and more training sessions to get his fitness up to a level where he can play 70-90 minutes.
I think Twine would also benefit from a few games where he comes on when the opponents are tiring.

I'm not saying he shouldn't have scored it was a bad miss, but just seeing it from behind the ball went slightly further passed him than ideal, but I still feel he thought it was an easy tap in and maybe was too casual about it.

Think last night just show technically gifted Tufan is , first touch is so easy for him and he creates space and movement for others - we need to speed up the attacks. Too often around the edge of their box we were static, when they attacked they came in numbers and moved down the sides a bit easy - we defend very narrow to crowd the space

IF Slater is undroppable, then Slater for Twine, with Morton for Slater in CM.

Yes some of the things that Tufan does dont come off, but, he does not always go for the easy sideways pass he is inventive and is always looking to create something that opens ups the oppositions defence.

True, but in typical City fashion the locals were hyped up to fill the ground, leaving occasional fans wondering if they'll bother coming back. Big opportunity missed.
By the way, why all the fireworks and hoo-hah before the game? Will we do the same when Rotherham visit or is it just for the European Champions? Smacks of small club mentality.
