Pepe Reina put his friendship with Fernando Torres to one side and gave his view on the two strikers.

"Fernando is top class; Luis is as good or even better than Fernando," said Reds keeper Reina.

I think the fact that Suarez gives us more options in his style of play makes him a better player for us than Torres ever was.

He obviously had his head turned and it showed for the last season and a half he was at LFC,he says he has a story to tell us about the 'real story' about why he left.
But hes gone and that should be the end of it,but hes going to open another can of worms that will bring more hurt and controversy to our club at a time when we have the Evra thing going on.

If he feels anything for the club and fans that put him on the map he'd be better off just moving on and letting sleeping dogs lie.

everything he has said since leaving has been disrespectful - he can only be claiming that he was forced out of the club - if this was the case we would never have got 50m for him - think he is afraid of the reception he will get at the weekend as the liverpool supporters have no time for him and with the way he is playing, the chelsea supporters will soon lose faith

Judging by some of the comments by Chelsea fans on here they already have.

I'd have expected you guys to be a little more cautious about hailing your next new striker as 'best-in-the-world', given what happened to Torres.

    Why would that be Wor?

We've had many great strikers down the years and they either left or retired but as they play/played for Liverpool i'd say its reasonable to discuss two of them on the Liverpool board.

As far as I know we have never said that Suarez is "the best-in the- world". We have said ONE of the best and we have said worlclass.

However, once bitten and twice shy, the majority of us have not given our allegence to Suarez in the same way that we did for Torres.

Torres was at that time arguably the best, or in the best form. Who stays best striker in the world ther entire career anyway?

I wouldn't say Suarez is the best in the world anyways, he is one of though, there is still work to be done but he has shown a lot so far.

I agree; all of our board have been saying Suarez is better than Messi and it's really pissing me off.

Suarez is top class..the best in the world..no.

Anyone who thinks he's on a par with Messi, needs there head tested.

Suarez is more versatile, but Torres has (had) a better finish.

    Thing can change though.

The weird thing is, before they both came here, you'd have said the opposite. Torres wasn't a prolific goalscorer for Atletico, and Suarez did nothing but for Ajax.
