    I'm probably being bold with that question but he has to be in serious contention, everyone knows what he is going to do, teams even double up on him yet he still wins us matches. If he can show this kind of form in the Premiership I think he'd be lined up for an international call. What a player, reject all offers, he will be worth a gold mine in a few seasons.

    Getting hard to argue against it. Whether he’s definitively the best in an undisputed way is hard to say. But he’s definitely one of them, and I can’t think of any I’d rather have myself.

    Jack Clarke can be a Sunderland legend, he’s so good he’s likely to achieve that status before he’s 26 if he hangs around. I really hope he does.

    At this point, I am confident that we will. We are winning comfortably while playing with less fluency than I know this squad is capable of. Stared poorly today and in the end we’re in no danger of dropping points. There’s a steely determination with this squad of players, we will take some stopping.
