Will not resign, stating... "When you are faced with a problem you have to face the problem," but what if you are the problem?
I agree with him I heard his interview today and I can see where he was coming from Is racism on the pitch worse than spitting on a player, elbowing a player, or taking a player out maliciously?
Basic answer is " No " - but all of the 'other' gestures you suggest are not taboo because they can be unilateral - therefore not influenced by a desire to insult rather than to maim or cheat to win.
personally would rather be called a racist name than spat on and it can be cultural, look at zidane's headbutt. I personally felt the man should have stamped on his face when he fell and sod the consequences
apparently not - so long as you don't do it for reasons of race, creed or colour. Football, in particular, is full of cheats.
From what i gather it was just an honest mistake. I don't see why he should resign, everyone says something that can be taken out of context, you know our media love a good "scandal"
depends, if zidane butted him because he insulted his mum and sister and the guy went down due to being butted then IMO anything goes Its a fight not a chivalry contest I have never understood that 'wouldnt kick a man when he is down' tbh, If i have put him down i would make sure he stayed down
lost in translation it seems, although he had no choice but to apologise racism is abhorrent and he wasnt trying to trivialise it IMO
When in a position of power, people tend to twist other peoples words more than they would for, say, joe public. I don't like Sepp Blatter, but i don't believe he condones racism. Interestingly, we're the only country to really make a fuss over the statement. The rest of europe have already moved on. Typical british media...
Do you realise how easy it is to kill someone with a kick to the head, especially when they're on the ground and unable to dodge? Would you really want someone's death on your conscience, along with 10 years+ in prison, because they said something nasty about your mum? Plus you say "If i have put him down", what if someone else has put him down?
I am no fan of Blatter either Interesting that most 'foreigners' dont see the current hoo haa as a FIFA problem but an English problem evra, suarez and terry, ferdinand. Although evra and suarez are foreign themselves it manifested in the EPL
THEY should have thought about the consequences and you dont have to be kicked in the head to die I had a mate who worked on the doors, one of the lads who worked with him got a 5 year stretch for killing a numpty who squared up to him (pissed) The fella tried walking away about 4 times, the numpty kept pushing and trying to punch etc. Finally the guy punched him, he fell to the floor, hit his head and died. got done for manslaughter. served 2 and a bit. ruined his life, was only doing the doors as he was a black belt with a kid on the way and was trying to earn a bit extra wouldnt hurt a fly and very patient man
I think the media has to take the blame. If not for this song and dance over Terry and Ferdinand, then none of this would happen. I'm not saying we should let it go, i'm saying it should be dealt with in private, in a responsible manner, to try and find the best solution, rather than 100 more scare stories etc.
It's called the "Death Punch", a well timed blow to the temple that shuts off the brain, resulting in massive damage to the inner workings of the body.
TBH its always a mess look at Warnock saying black players should boycott the internationals to show blatter surely it would be better if ALL players did? not saying they should by the way
