QPR have agreed the signing of United States international right-back Reggie Cannon. The 25-year-old is a free agent, having left Boavista during the summer over unpaid wages. A contractual dispute with the Portuguese club appears to have been resolved and Cannon’s move to west London is expected to be confirmed on Wednesday. Boss Gareth Ainsworth has been keen to bring in a right-back for some time.
Reggie Cannon on his way ........................ hope he's a blasts off the start. Just did a google search on him. He has a collection of shirts! He’s an interesting bloke. Sent off three times in one season for Boavista, and once for the US. Get some money on for a red card for him. Unilaterally cancelled his contract with Boavista over alleged unpaid wages. Must be some truth in it as they have settled. Left Dallas after receiving death threats for taking the knee at a game, being booed and having bottles thrown at him by fans, calling them disgusting, and then refusing to issue the club written apology. ****ing hell, apologising to racists, what a **** club that must be! I like the sound of him, hope he can actually play.
I Don't get this, we are playing 3 at the back, and have Kakay(who has been excellent when I have seen him), Dunne, Fox, Cook and JCS to fill 3 positions. Unless he will be used as a wing back to come on when Smyth gets tired of wellying a cross to White City tube station?
Heard the cross actually ended up at Holland Park, but that is beside the point. Ainsworth will, I suspect, sign him and talk about having depth in the squad. On the one hand, I find it frustrating that our players are struggling with exhaustion so early in the season, but at the same time, I can't then also be frustrated that we are signing another decent enough looking player, so those who are exhausted can have a much needed break...six weeks into the season .
I suspect we want Willock to do a couple of decent things and prove his fitness in the hope that we can offload him during the winter transfer window.
We do not have a real RB at the club...Kakay has shown over and over again he is a RCB...and not a defensive RB Our RB options are Kakay, Smyth, Adomeh or Field. We cannot play a flat back four...as our RB position is not disciplined enough to do that. I think that is why we want and need him
The torture inflicted on Smyth and Kakay by Clarke and others in the Sunderland game highlighted that we need a RB who is a better at defending than either of these 2.
Exactly what I am saying above. Vs Sunderland we needed a defensive RB, with Smyth in front...so Clark had really to worry about losing the ball in that area
There didnt seem to be much sign of exhaustion last night. Willock taken off early probably because he's not played a lot, the only one needing that I think.
