Hmmm, maybe, i certainly think they are playing as if they are confused, but I don’t see anyone really busting their balls the last few games, quite the opposite, actually apart from Charly, he seems to care. Che seems totally lost also, wonder if his non move had affected him. Not trying to single him out as the service has been poor, but he also hasn’t been on it at all for me. And don’t get me started on Smallbone. Never thought he was good, nothing has changed my mind, not even a good 90 mins v Weds. Absolute nothing of a player. And whilst I’m writing. Martin can **** off. Anyone who plays AA is poor in my book, so let’s make him the ****ing captain. I think he will get more time, cos again SR wont want to admit they ****ed up. But surely the next intl breaks may be a good place to evaluate, whenever that is.
No, I don’t think it is that. We said this last season, and yet all of the obviously decent ones seem to be doing pretty well away from our club.
No meeting for me but having a meal overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Tenerife has helped cushion the news from SMS. Fortunately for me, for a couple of weeks more too, so picking up on yet another dismal result, the comments on here, it seems to me that RM is not the manager we need. Another poor SR selection decision, 3 in a row now, plus another one taking too long on RH and missing other options. If, as it seems, the players are totally confused and unable to do what he's asking them to do, then he is absolutely the current problem, there is much talent there but a total lack of talent, it seems at present, to pick the right team and help them win games! I'll be surprised if, by the time I'm back, this pointless run continues, he'll still be in charge. Three weeks of this stuff and there's no option but to replace.
When teams are promoted they are confident and feel positive. It takes them a few defeats before they loose it. Teams that are relegated have a lot of changes and aren’t confident. I would fear playing promoted ones than those that have been in the same division for years
Losing Stephens & Bednarek has been a blow. Not replacing JWP properly has been a blow. Selling Tella has been a blow. We've regressed so much since the start of the season. Adam Armstrong as captain ffs? Utter state of that.
Apart from getting us relegated in the first place? Apart from selling the only quality we had and replacing it with a Man City child and a broken striker? Apart from appointing Russ Martin?
That was absolutely rancid. This has to be some kind of World Record evaporation of goodwill. Today could have been a replay of any game last season, only at a lower level. Opposition goals all come from errors. Utterly toothless up front. I felt Sunderland was a bit of a freak, but Leicester and today have rapidly put me off RM. That lineup was complete hubris by a man whose image is changing from principled manager with a defined style, to shallow hipster who thinks he has solved football despite the evidence in front of him. The absolute minimum is to be 6th at Christmas, if he can’t achieve that then he has to go. I know he was asking for patience, but he is already burning through points at a rate that will put any chance of promotion in jeopardy. Im going to put a bit of a line here because despite everything there were some positives. - Edozie and Bazunu both played well against Leicester and today. - KWP was massively improved. - Alcaraz made a big difference when he came on. Alcaraz must start against Middlesbrough. Charles must be out of CB. 3 points against Middlesbrough or serious questions must start being asked, I hate to be impatient but our season is already receiving critical damage. /essay
SR made mistakes last year but I don't think it is as simple as blaming them for everything. The quality players were bound to go in the summer and we got good deals for them, we kept hold of some key players and most were satisfied with the transfer window They appointed Wilcox which everyone seemed ecstatic about. As for Russell Martin, there was a major love in for him on this forum after the QPR game. Agree the last 3 games have been **** but if Martin fooled SR, then he fooled many on here too.
I’d assumed we were going to play an adjusted low-budget Championship version of the Man City playbook, not actually try and play exactly like them, but without the gazillions to buy all the best players
Thought we did ok up until the goal which was another shocker to give away and evidence that Charles isn't a CB. Can afford to take those risks as a DM but not in position he was in tonight. Aribo was Aribo, showed some nice touches earky on but as soon as we were up against it went missing. Don't think we were quite as open defensively but we also were worsw in an attacking sense. Boro a massive game for both clubs.
Thing is the first few games he played square pegs in square holes. Then today he decided to play a midfield 3 of Adam Armstrong, smallbone and Aribo with our only DM as a centre half… I mean.. what the actual **** is he thinking? Completely unforgivable tactical performance tonight. Players never stood a chance
