Anyone know if Hearts have any decent CBs we could take a look at? Excuse my ignorance as I donât follow the SPL but we have a good record of successful scots & Hearts are in 30 mil in debt & currently looking for a new buyer.... Its not like the vultures didnât pick us off when the shoe was on the other foot either!
Hearts players (on low wages) have now been paid, the others will get their dosh soon. To be fair the Hearts board had planned on receiving money from Sunderland for Craig Gordon, as he should have played over 100 games for them by now and they are due further money for this, the fact he has only played 87 games in 4 years, is why Hearts didn't pay up this month, that and the £1m paid to the tax man. Hearts are a great club owned and run by a complete ****er (sounds familiar). Good players at Hearts: Ryan Stevenson (midfield) - good ball control technically gifted, not scared of a tackle and can score goals. David Templemen (winger/striker) - fast paced attacking player, with great ball control and ability to get past defenders. Marius Zaliukas (defender) - a central defender who has impressed when I have watched him. Big and very strong and has the ability to control the ball and create opportunities with good passes. Good positional sense and a leader on/off the park. Current Lithuanian international and Hearts club captain.
Hearts actually have a lot of decent players, as has been mentioned Zaliukas is probably their best defender and they also have a player called Eggert Jonsson who can play anywhere in defence and also in a defensive midfield role, he's a bit hot and cold but when he's at his best then he's very good Templeton (winger), Driver (winger), Kello (goalkeeper), Obua (midfielder) are a few others who could do a decent job at Championship level
Hearts are probably mid division 1 in English league standard at best. Therefore, I doubt if they would have much worth looking at. Rangers and Celtic buy anything worth a damn up there and theyre both ****e at the moment
You do realise that a lot of the good players in the championship and the premiership for that matter started in the "MickeyMouse league"? Or have at least played in it at some point Mikel Arteta, Charlie Adam, Alan Hutton, Stiliyan Petrov, Steven Fletcher, Craig Bellamy to name but a few. Any of those good enough to play for the mighty Leeds United? By all accounts 2 of Leeds best players are Scottish and played in Scotland, Snodgrass and McCormack
We got Snodgrass from that same Mickey Mouse league system; I agree with 1882 on this. Poor league but definitely has some good players lurking in it and we know how well the Scots usually do when they come to Leeds. We were linked with Templeton recently (over the summer or last season I think) and I think he'd be well worth it. Need a consistent attacking player on the left hand side of the top third of the pitch, something we've lacked since Gradel's gone.
It is a very poor league, even us as supporters get bored with it and can totally understand why nobody other than us takes an interest in it. it's very disrespectful of some people to just dismiss the players though, we have some very good players up here, some who could easily play in most premiership teams but a lot of teams don't want to take the risk cos they're playing in Scotland
Snoddy came from the Scottish First Divison, not the SPL, perhaps you should be more aware of the facts before you rubbish something. I watched Snoddy play for Stirling Albion in Scottish 2nd Division in 2006/2007 season. Edit: Sorry I didn't fully understand your response, I take all I said back.
Boab to be fair to Leeds18 he used the term 'Mickey Mouse League'in reference to Farsleyexile's post. I don't think he was belittling the Scottish league at all-quite the opposite in fact, highlighting the fact that gems can be found,as in the case of Snodgrass,& that we shouldn't just dismiss it as a Mickey Mouse no-go area. That's the way I read it anyway
