True, but with that comes a few getting carried away, which is why I suspect the club have put the message put now, despite there never having been an issue before
All this stuff about our fans bad behaviour is ridiculous. It is tame compared to other clubs. Which is why it was voted top ground to visit. Also helps that all the stewarding and policing is concentrated on home fans, the opposite of other grounds. Most arrests last season? Leeds.
That's basically what I said but with stronger language. We agree that Tan's tweet implies it's going to happen, even though it never has before. I think that's a little bit odd. I do think general crowd behaviour (not us specifically) has got worse in the last few years and it's the sort of thing that happens a lot now around the country, but I don't think the Istanbul thing is on City fans' minds at all. He's maybe said it because of the Turkey link and/or because of the growing national scrutiny around chants relating to tragedies. I wouldn't be surprised if clubs have been asked to share these kinds of messages in fact. To be honest though, I think telling people that it's very naughty to sing about tragedies only makes it more likely. The people who do that are doing it for the shock factor. They're well aware it's considered unpleasant; that's why they do it.
As we've never sung songs about tragedies, he's more likely to be saying tomorrow might be a good day to leave your Turkish flags at home.
All single seats but plenty on the end of rows if people feel a bit weird about sitting between 2 strangers
If someone wants mine they’re in the drawer in the kitchen If they could just break a window and tidy up a bit I can claim I was burgalarised
There's a Turkish flag flying outside the ground. I'm not a huge fan of City fans waving Turkish flags in the first place as it comes across a bit sycophantic but it's whatever. Lots of fans have adopted the Turkish imagery in support of the owners. What would be silly is encouraging Turkish flags and imagery since the owners took over and then asking or implying fans shouldn't wave them for one particular home again because it might offend the irrational xenophobia of the away team's fans.
Maybe so, but four Millwall fans got ten year bans for waving Turkish flags at Leeds fans, Huddersfield fans also got stadium bans for doing the same thing, Man United also apologised after some of their fans did the same. Against that background, it might be an idea to give the flags a night off, regardless of the fact that we're a Turkish owned club and the flags are normally there.
If they click they're too good for most in this league. If they go for, and execute, a Bielsa style, we'll score more than you all out attack approach, I fear the worst
Weeds don’t give a fcuk about us.. Very little history between the clubs… Excitable night for some but gimme Blunts,Boro and Massive any day.. Allam’s GONE.
If it was a Galatasaray shirt, they may have a point. We have a Turkish owner and some fans have waved Turkish flags in support of said owner since he bought the club. It’s also our stadium, not theirs, so they’ll just have to get over it. They’re entitled to grieve for their two fans who tragically lost their lives but they choose to be offended by a flag. The people who killed those two Leeds fans don’t even represent all Galatasaray fans, let alone an entire country of tens of millions of people.
It's about educating fans, the more Leeds fans who know the genuine reason why an English team waves a Turkish flag the better. It does seem a bit strange waving a Turkish flag at an English club and if I see any Hull fans doing so it wouldn't personally bother me knowing it's "what they always do"
I don’t find it strange. The owners have come in and turned the club around. They are passionate about creating ‘One Family’ and have treated the fans accordingly. When they had the earthquakes in Turkey we showed our support for their home country and donated funds. Fans flying Turkish flags show that we back their ownership.
