Folk singer Roger Whittaker, famous for his 1969 hit song Durham Town and expert whistling, has died at the age of 87. His other hits included The Last Farewell and New World in the Morning, and he sold nearly 50 million records around the world RIP
RIP but ****ing hell I thought he was old in the 70s when he got TV time, assumed he’d died before the Internet……
Adrian Edmonson leaves listeners in 'absolute bits' as he breaks down over Rik Mayall (msn.com) Just seemed like the right place put this. Moving.
Listened to this this morning, and yes I was in bits too Adrian Edmonson, was so lovely on Desert Island Discs....not only about Rick Mayall, but also his last record...Wide Open Spaces by The (Dixie) Chicks for his family, as it reminds him of his girls singing in the car. He seems the nicest person Saw him with The Bad Shepherds once, he is a seriously accomplished musician too
That’s heartbreaking to listen to, and 10 years on. Remember seeing Ade with the Bad Shepherds too Beth - on a tiny stage at the Larmer Tree - thoroughly enjoyable gig and very original take on some great songs. Nice guy on stage too.
Derby County goalkeeper Josh Vickers has revealed that his wife, Laura, has died from cancer just three months after they married. RIP
Actor David McCallum, who starred in the hit series "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." in the 1960s and was the eccentric medical examiner in the popular "NCIS" 40 years later, has died. He was 90. RIP
I think he was my first crush...his picture was on my wall....along with Rodney and the Morgan twins.. RIP David...you were certainly handsome
He played his U.N.C.L.E part so well, I always had a feeling he had Russian blood, instead of Scots as was the truth. RIP Illya Kuryakin
As the wireless operator on the Titanic in the old film about the disaster. Had Kenneth Moore in it too, one of my favourite actors from that period !
