Being as the boards are dead thought I'd write a non descript article for everyone to have a reminisce of their first visit as a kid to either OT or indeed Anfield..

Mine was 1984, being taken to OT by my Godfather (who is from Manchester and still a season ticket holder still the same seat also) to a game against Sunderland.. I remember being taken to a chippy near the ground for chips and gravy, the walk to the stadium and being totally in awe of the place..

I cant remember much about the game other than getting to see my idol that being Bryan Robson.. Also the legend that was Norman Whiteside and who was playing on the right wing that day, i was pitchside and remember thinking Whitesides legs were actually bigger than me.. the bloke was an awesome player. Think it must have been Remi moses upfront as cant think of another black dude who played for us back then and i think Kevin Moran may have scored, cant remember the scoreline but i think we won.

My first memory at a football game was when my dad used to take me to watch Sunderland games. Their support was immense - it was just singing all game - ( the era when Marco Gabaddini (sp) played for Sunderland and I think Dennis Smith was the manager ).

Suprising then my first visit to Old Trafford that I can remember was against Sunderland with my dad - United won and I think Mark Hughes scored an overhead kick. My memory of the game was the Sunderland fans pelting us with coins, my dad was saying to us ' hold up my Sunderland scarf to them' but myself and my brother were too busy picking up all the coins <ok>

My first game was Goodison derby in 1962. Liverpool had just come back up from the second division. My dad and uncle were blues (we lived just off Goodison Road) and they thought they were starting a new generation of Toffee supporters but me being an awkward little get went the other way, and never looked back.
Indistinct memory tells me it was a draw, and I think Sir Roger bagged one ( can't be arsed googling it )

Ive been to Goodison, few years back now late 90's i think,a lad I was mates with at college supported them, it was the season they just managed to stay up, by drawing with Derby which should have sent them down but other results went their way and they stayed up then a mass pitch invasion ensued remember helping a mad old biddy climb over the advertising boards onto the pitch for her to them rip up a piece of turf and hold it aloft to a round of applause from the stand i was in. Wish we had camera phones back then.

Although I saw the light early on, as a nipper I went to Goodison a lot because it was so close. A few of us kids would operate a car- minding scam before the game then hang around for a bit. After a while in the second half they'd open the gates to let the fair weather supporters out so we'd all pile in to watch the last half hour or so.
We could go right down between the stands to the pitch side and watch over the hoardings. When the game ended we'd jump over and run around the pitch for a bit. We were only kids and no-one ever bothered us.
    Times have changed.

Anfield 1984...Liverpool vs Coventry won 3-1 with goals from Wark (2) and Rush and an o.g. I think by Hansen....team line up was Grobbelaar, Neal, Kennedy, Lawrenson (Whelan), Nicol, Hansen, Dalglish, Molby, Rush, Johnston, Wark. The good old days <laugh>

First visit to Anfield - 1952. Can't remeber a thing as I was only 2 at the time. Me Dad took me to ensure that I was a RED (I think he thought my Ma might have been a closet Blue).

<laugh> nah they had 4 bloody great pylons in each corner of the ground with the floodlights on top.

But you could still walk around the ground at half time. So it was not unusual to see fellas watch the first half in the Anny Road and then walk round to watch the 2nd on The Kop

Pathe News was great - except for that bloody cockeral!!!

Remember sagging-off in 1965 with a few mates. We were in the Forum to see the Pathe News piece on the Cup Final. Everybody was rolling about laughing when the Southern commentator said "and Sinjen scores a wonderful goal!". Happy Days

Utd 4-1 Luton Town in 1991. My most vivid memory was the bloke right behind who insisted on yelling "Go on Sparky!" every time Hughes got the ball, and the fact that my little sister (who was six at the time) burst into tears every time we scored and the fans around us erupted in celebration. Happy days :)
