Calydon, you made a point about me having all of the advantages in life and being born with a silver-spoon in my mouth. Have we met?

For your information: I was born in Thamesmead, November 1978. My mother was a cleaner at a school and my father a fireman. I no longer have my father, but that is a different story. We lived in a cramped two bedroom flat in a rather disgusting tower-block named Timothy House.
I did not do very at school and left with no GCSEs. I have lived in Ponders End since 1995 and have worked at a variety of low-skilled, low-paid jobs. I decided to teach myself how to read and write and to construct half-decent prose.
I am law-abiding, tax-paying and do a fair amount of charity work. I work with black youngsters day in, day out and help many build decent futures for themselves. I am very well respected in the borough of Haringey and have been awarded many awards for my community work. One of the reasons for my success is because I am able to talk straight with no wishy-washy dogma. I tell it like it is. That seems to upset the white-liberals who have no real experience of the streets and how the black community fails its youngsters.
As long as do-gooders continue to hand it all on a plate to young blacks, they will continue to create excuses for failure and the descent into a life of crime. Responsibility needs to be garnered, not given. Until that divide is drawn, the young blacks will not learn the hard lessons in life.

SuperC. Your comments earlier were cretinous. Because you apologise and appease, you think you have the right to lord it over those without views that mirror your own. If anyone lives in an ivory tower, it is you, my friend.
You then accuse me of being a racist because I used the word 'spooks' in a thread about ghosts. Are you for real?

Lording it? Block was having a debate completely on topic and you then decide to talk about him living in a bubble, and being a leftist etc. I would say that is lording it to someone who doesn't share your opinion.

You are talking absolute nonsense. I was talking about the degradations within the black community, stating facts and issuing examples to back up my comments. I then get called a racist, a bigot and obnoxious. That was entirely unprovoked and shows the withering intellect of Block. But what will you do about the name-calling? Nothing, because what he says suits your own agenda. Pathetic.

And what have you to say about the 'spooks' comment?

I am going to be honest here, probably showing my naivety. I never realised myself that 'spooks' was a derrogatory slur! My only meaning of spooks was to do with the ghost tours that JA spoke about or was he being racist?

I just looked it up in the urban dictionary and now I know its meaning, however, it does prove a point that racism can be just in the eye of the beholder, if that is the correct term.

What I mean by that is you have now created a racist term in my mind that before today never existed.

I stand by it. I think we both know there was more to that remark. Interesting it followed shortly after you discussed your displeasure at the individuals in your area.

''As long as do-gooders continue to hand it all on a plate to young blacks, they will continue to create excuses for failure and the descent into a life of crime. Responsibility needs to be garnered, not given. Until that divide is drawn, the young blacks will not learn the hard lessons in life.'' Can you not comprehend that there might be young black members on this board that COULD take offense to these sort of statements? Why does it have to be ''young blacks''? The statement's more true for the youth in general, not just one race.

We are talking about the black community. When we talk about the Romanian community, I shall make comments about Romanian criminals and the problems within.

Again, you want to talk about the youth in general. But there are problems within the black comminity which are exclusive to them alone. If you want me to list them, I will.
If there happens to be young blacks on here who want to take me to task, then that is great - I will have a conversation based on fact and real knowledge. When they do approach me and prove me wrong, I will hold my hands up to ignorance and racism. Until then, I will use my ten years' experience to continue working and achieving alongside members of the black community. Please tell what skills and experience you have of such matters?

As for the 'spooks' debate: please do not assume that you know of my intent. If you really did think I was being offensive, then why did you not warn me or ban me from the site? You have brought this out to try and strengthen your own stance and to undermine me. It is contemptous and lazy.
