I must say I actually enjoyed the last 20 odd laps as Merc made a very brave move. It was great to see the drivers actually having to work for the win. While Merc will be kicking themselves for the viewers their switch to mediums for a last stint was great to watch.
I think they planned for a 2 stopper all weekend.
I have always thought Carlos was a better driver than Charles but using Lando's drs to hold off the mercs was just inspired.

Hey, at least we got a one race break from the dominance and the clean sweep is off the cards.

Have to be grateful for small mercies.

Who is to say that it wasn't deliberate to create more interest in F1. I have myself lost respect in the integrity of the sport.

Could be Liam and Danny next year in the Alpha because Yuki Tsunoda.has mounting pressure to perform.

I enjoyed the last 20 odd laps too.The only thing spoiling it was that buffoon croft.

I just had to mute the clown.

I don't get the noise about Croft, I just ignore 90% of what he says. If you start with that premise, there is no issue. I assume he is talking to those new to the sport. His mouth is faster than his brain, which is why he comes out with nonsense. I assume Brundle has some respect for him, presumably because he knows what Sky want from him.
Just remove your expectations, and block the input. Simple.

Its like chinese water torture. you can say ignore that drop of water, its only a drop but 2 hours later that drop is hell.

Its being 2 laps behind the obvious, its constantly bigging up a potential pass that a blind man can see is never close enough to be a pass. Its blundering out with silly statements like should russell let hamilton through there or wait a lap to do it... on the final lap!!!

he feels the need in a lull in conversation to "build excitement", the problem is 99% of the time he does it there's no action but then he misses the actual real action as he's late to the party.

Take the virtual safety car for example. It was patently obvious the second the first marshall walked out on track that they were not throwing a full safety car but he seemingly completely missed that.

He was talking up verstappen coming at le clerc but it was blindingly obvious it as never happening even if he did get close.

He was talking up russell like it was an ironed on win the second they pitted. at no point did it occur to these guys that merc just threw 2nd away there

You clearly didn't have a big brother who subjected you to chinese torture as a child, I unfortunately did. It has affected me for the rest of my life, Enabled me to switch off.
Yep, he did say all those dumb things but I discarded them before they infected me, be your own commentator, in your mind. Trouble now is you have reminded me and I have to discard them for a second time but it is less easy this time around as I don't have the visual to distract me.

I absolutely enjoyed reading your description of croft. You have the ability to put into words my thoughts exactly what I was thinking.Thank you.

It`s sad really that I have to mute the volume because I like Martin Brundle and what he has to say but I miss all of his input because of that boorish obnoxious person.

I try to imagine brundle rolling his eyes at croft to lessen the impact but it is getting harder the older and more doddery brundle is getting.

Button has a great way of calling croft and idiot to his face though.

Yeah, nice one Jenson.I like him alot.
Hate to go on too much about you know who,but when you commented about him talking up Russell like it was an ironed on win it was just his desire and wish for a British 1-2-3 result that was so irriitating..I`m English myself, but I don`t necessarily feel the need to support everything and everyone UK like Sky do.

I just wish that there was another Murray Walker up and coming somewhere.

it was a nice thought once given ferrari blow up, crash or wear their tyres out but not to hammer on about.

there was imo a small chance of mercs getting at ferrari before they pitted but once they put the mclaren between themselves and glory there was no way.

the ferrari is a good traction car out of corners and there was one place to pass.

it's a 100% track position race. mercs gave it up.

I was hoping for a norris win but it was obvious he hasn't a hope there on equal tyres.

I just have to tune him out, especially on starts/restarts. He just grates on my nerves.

I miss having David Hobbs and Steve Matchett as the commentary team over here.
