Hmm. Not overly convinced by this line up. Feel like midfield is too lightweight and this isn’t the game to start Fabio Vieira. Also, Nketiah starting with Martinelli in the front 3 isn’t ideal. Martinelli was isolated a lot at Goodison last season and Nketiah doesn’t offer what Jesus does off the ball to give him an outlet.

Got to be honest...genuinely confused with the swapping of the keepers.

We’ve started the game very well, and we are winning the ball/monopolising the ball in dangerous areas, shifting Everton’s backline out of position, but our final ball needs to be better. Martinelli’s deliveries so far have been substandard.

I’m sorry but that’s just so amateurish from Eddie to be offside there. He should have been able to have spotted the line and timed his run properly. Needs to do better.

Martinelli scored the opener, but Nketiah may have been offside in the build up. Yep, just as I type, it’s been given offside. Shame.

Should that have been offside? I thought the ball came off an Everton player? Unless Eddie was coming back from an offside position?

Ah the touch was unintentional. Annoying, but technically correct.

Martinelli injured <doh>. Trossard coming on as a sub. Really hope Martinelli’s injury is nothing serious.

Trossard is not a patch on Martinelli.

    HT. 0-0.

We’re dominating the game and getting into some really promising positions, we’re also counter pressing really well. But I feel like we’re overpassing and trying to be too intricate. Recycling the ball too much instead of taking more of a risk in front of the last line.

We’ve also lost some directness and threat in behind with Martinelli coming off. Trossard isn’t a like for like replacement for Martinelli.

Need to make some changes in the second half so that we can stretch them.

Ugh just feels like we are gonna drop points today.

White and Viera keep fluffing all our attacks.

We've been dominant but not very incisive.

Ive barely noticed Nketiahs on the pitch - Jesus should always start when he's fit IMO.

Also, we’ve had 77% possession but 3 shots on goal. Haven’t tested Pickford enough at all.

Seriously need to pick it up in the second half. And we have the players on the bench to do so.

Good start to the half, that’s more like it. Odegaard unlucky with the shot, Pickford makes a decent save and Fabio Vieira’s follow up is atrocious.

How is that a yellow for Gabriel? He tried to make himself smaller and get out the way. Beto runs into him. Stupid yellow card.

TROSSARD! What a finish! 1-0 and it’s fully deserved too. Let’s hope we can get a second now to kill it off.

Need to switch on here. A long diagonal from pickford into Mykolenko and he was through on goal. Thankfully White got back in time to block the clearance.

Fabio Vieira in front of goal has been abysmal. That’s another wasted chance from a shot that he completely miscues.

FT. Everton 0-1 Arsenal. Our first win at Goodison Park since 2017/18 - when Wenger was manager. Hoodoo over <applause>.

Fully deserved. Everton never looked like scoring. We totally controlled the game and defended long balls and direct free-kicks superbly. We created a lot more openings in the second half and should have put the game to bed. We won our duels, competed physically and retained the ball extremely well. We also did well to keep the crowd quiet to never let them get going.

Lovely worked move for Trossard's goal and I'm delighted with the victory. But that could easily have been a 3-0 win. Hopefully, we begin to become more clinical in these moments otherwise they will cost us in future.

A dominant display overall though <ok>.

    Onto the Champions League now...
