I have no confidence in this back line of ours. Meslier all over the place. Struijk given 2 corners away. Ayling looking dodgy. They'll get one eventually. We need at least one more goal.
Millwall all over us first 10 minutes. Since then it's us in control. Main danger is they just lump it long and we dont/can't deal with it. Defensive mistakes galore. Millwall getting alot of corners due to our incompetent defence. Other than that we've scored a great goal and had a few half chances to add to it. We can't deal with any long ball though and Meslier has a dose of the dropsy again. We're winning and we look the better side but it's nervy at the back. We won't be keeping a clean sheet.
Rutter goes to ground far to easily for my liking, instead of finishing the move will look for a free kick, other than that a good performance from not only Leeds, but also surprisingly from the referee. Happy 1-0 up but another 45min to hold it together.
Decent first half. Withstood the early onslaught and grew in to the game. Scored a great goal with Gnonto, Rutter and Piroe combining fantastically well and Piroe with a cool finish. We've quietened the crowd and looked in control. As I've alluded to earlier, Meslier has been fortunate a couple of times with one going through his hands. Ayling has done some decent stuff but has made a couple of howlers that he's only just survived. Rodon has been outstanding. Struijk has had an Ayling half where he looks OK but then does something stupid. He needs to win headers against a smaller man. Byram has been good at left back. Ampadu and Gray have done well in the middle with Piroe dropping in to help and Gnonto and Summerville have tracked the wing backs after not bothering for the first 10 minutes. Rutter has been good and if he was a bit stronger might have got a few more chances.
Great goal, super classy top striker finish… perfect first touch passed into far corner. Good to score first for once as it gives us some space on the break. Should make for an open second half.
What can I say about that first half. On a positive, what a great goal. Team take note of what can happen by moving the ball quickly. Summerville channeling his inner Harrison, pass the ball you greedy little ****er, I’d hook him at half time. How many fouls is that defender of there’s going to get away with before he’s booked? Should be off for two blatant pull backs on Gnonto (who also holds on too long at times). We spend too much time playing backwards and there is no way we’re going to keep a clean sheet. Also conceding way too many corners, they are going to score from one of them.
