Two excellent displays from Ba recently shows just how much he's coming on, also worth considering that he was signed as a central midfielder and now looks like an excellent winger showing that these young lads are still very malleable. I think Ekwah's improvement has been well covered, Hume aswell. Sometimes we can over look the natural progression young talents will make in favour of an exciting signing, but we are already seeing some of the fruits of our youth recruitment.
Good skills from ba leading up to clarkes goal and the back heel to set up Roberts near the end. Looking good in the team and hard to drop for Roberts at the minute
It's a sea change from the previous approach of chucking the young lads in and discarding them if they don't immediately settle. The real test will be if the supporters stick with it if we go on an extended bad run. I think ideally we want to get to a situation where we can attract and accomodate both established players who would relish playing in front of a big crowd and young players who want a pathway to the first team.
Aouchiche assist first game, Ba two great games and a goal, Bennette quality cross and skill game before last, Jobes continual late runs into the box, Rigg header, Burstow close to a goal yesterday. I’m sure I’ve missed some.. it’s amazing to see
I think they deserve to have some part in the match day Even on the bench and it’s nice to have the choices we will need them all When we get our injuries
Everyone seems to have missed his pirouette, maybe he’s got to do 2+ before it gets mentioned Ala Bennette
People forget how little proper football some of these lads have actually played. I’ve watched Hemir the last few games he has been unlucky with the chances he has missed but his movement is improving just like the look of him think he will come good
the bit i like is the 'understandings', it does not take long before they look as if they have all played together for a season and each one that comes in just fits right in...taking jobe for instance, he looked comfortable in his first games but never seemed sure of where to be but is now finding space in the right positions. TM has a difficult job keeping them all happy but he is making the right choices along the way.
It's a great problem for Mowbray to have - Roberts (and Pritch) will be chomping at the bit to get back in the team and prove their worth. Compare that to the Grayson/Coleman/Parkinson years where players knew they would play regardless of their performances in training/matches
Seen many a player wrote off by fans after a couple of games, he was one. Called hopeless earlier this season. These players need at least a 10/20 starts b4 being assessed
Thought he was quite quiet yesterday. Far too early to judge obviously. Be good to see how he develops as the season goes on, took Amad a good while to settle in. Looking forward to seeing the Ukrainian too.
Aye I think everyone I speak to is really excited about Rusyn. We have nothing really to go off just seems like we all have a good vibe about him.
There are some of our fans who think they're going to see the finished article in every young player we are currently signing. What they fail to recognise is that these lads will improve exponentially from the training and the coaching they are being given. It's so obvious as well....Hume,Neil,Ekwah...Amad last season....Ballard and Luke at the back...Jack Clarke is twice the player he was when he first came to us..so is Roberts.....we're almost licking our lips when we look at Abdou,Jobe and Adil. Our recruitment is excellent and so is our training and coaching of these players.
I think we have already had a bad run at the start of the season and think the fans on the most part are happy and becoming more confident. I don't think we will be blowing every team out of the water and believe there may be a couple of bad games during the season as our squad is young but our job as fans is to sing louder and show them we have the confidence in them! If their heads drop then we as fans pick them up. This team seem to really respond to the fans and it is excellent to see how connected they are to us, probably the most exciting team I have watched this season and long may it continue. Wise Men Say Only Fools Rush In. I am definitely not too wise and I may be a little foolish but I have most eagerly rushed in to see how this enthralling, exciting young team play this season. HWTL
Rusyn is the one I'm looking forward to seeing, looks to be physically strong and squat. One who can hold the ball up and create too. Goals wouldn't go amiss either.
It’s funny. Jamie Mackie slagged us off in an interview a couple of seasons ago (maybe even last season), yet he was full of praise for us on Sky the other day! Seems we are changing people’s minds.
