Not the pseudo religious lunatics gathered below Grey's Monument in Newcastle this afternoon who were informing everyone who'd had a Covid 19 jab that they'd be dead within a couple of years once some kind of trigger is, umm, triggered which gives everyone cancer or turns them into drones or summat. Honestly I thought that Jehovah's Witnesses et al had all bases covered on stupidity but apparently not.
Not as bad as it appears Ernie. “Big Pharma” have a cure for cancer but all the scientists around the world, ex scientists, retired scientists, disgruntled scientists, directors, ex directors, politicians, ex politicians, governments & ex governments choose to keep it hidden because there’s more profit in not releasing it despite many of their loved ones suffering with it. Everyone should have been written as the vast majority. As I mentioned in an earlier post, there's always going to be a small percentage who take it to the extreme - the Piers Corbyn types, who then bring in a host of other unrelated issues and then are conveniently used to discount all scepticism or concern. The internet and social media brings out the worst in us - it allows us to be dragged to the extremes, disagree for the sake of it and argue positions we wouldn't normally take and then become entrenched - I've been guilty of this in the past. There's always some caught on both sides, but the majority usually can understand concerns from both side and agree to disagree.
They turned up in Cottingham last week at the market with a little stall, ironically enough right next to the JWs. Which is funny, because even the JWs looked pissed off that they were driving away their business. . I had to have a look at their stuff, directly next to a piece about the vaccine reacting to 5G was a laminated A4 card about how the Rothschild’s control the world in scary red writing. There was an eye over a pyramid and everything, even a Masonic symbol. Sorry, (((they))) control the world, because that’s what these idiots meant.
I have no issue with anybody deciding they don’t want the Covid vaccine. I do have an issue with people creating falsehoods about it and then hiding behind the Lebowski argument of “it’s just like, my opinion, man” when they’re pulled up about what they said. Social media is designed to encourage tribal extremism, that’s how it keeps people engaged and why Twitter is now tanking under that ****wit Elon Musk. It isn’t what you know anymore, it’s how loudly you can shout and sound convincing. And it’s troubling just how ingrained that mentality is within modern society.

I don't care whether people choose not to have a jab, but I do care when they encourage other people to take risks with their health based on half-baked conspiracy bollocks they read on Facebook. I'm sorry if that comes across as rude to some people on here, it's just because I despise the idiots who promote the anti-vaxx bollocks. My bad.
Assuming people who have formed a considered opinion on the methods used to tackle covid 19 are all based it on "half-baked conspiracy bollocks they read on Facebook" is ignorant and arrogant and does little to benefit a discussion. It's more a lazy attempt to silence others. I took the time to talk to people that have gone full tilt into the conspiracies, and read the links, watched the videos they sent me, and I gave my own opinion on what they sent. As a generalisation, there was some information they sent that had a basis in reality, but it usually then spiraled into an almost Alice through the looking glass world to shoe-horn that information into their other conspiracies. Pointing out the flaws in the arguments from those fully bought in to the conspiracy theories is futile, as they simply throw other 'information' at you without addressing the errors. I do find the same or at least similar from those fully bought in to the alternative view though.
I reckon the lack of mixing during lockdown has meant some people could be more vulnerable to bugs that ordinarily they'd develop a natural immunity to from being exposed to minimal droplets of.
My Mum and Dad 89/90 have both tested positive, this despite having all the vaccine updates (their choice) and the flu vaccine. Mum in particular has been really poorly, thankfully a little better the last 2/3 days, though its visibly knocked her for 6... Seems theres a lot of it about...
