I think he was being dragged out to cover for KWP, which was either KWP being dogshit, Charles being naive or Martin asking them to do the impossible. Probably all 3. Mavididi looked incredible for Leicester as well, which didn’t help.
I think that must be the most worryingly deluded post-match comment I have read since Judas Escarriot said he thought history would ‘probably understand’ his decision to shop his mate JC for a few bob.
I'm still a little bit in shock at how awful KWP was today. He's so much better than that, and RM has no idea what to do with full backs, but it was his lack of effort to cover that was very 'wow' for me.
Adam Armstrong as captain is a REALLY bad idea. His sole contribution tonight was to somehow shank a shot from 6 yards into row Z. He is not captain material. Another stupid call from Martin.

Those Martin comments can only make sense through the prism of a manager who knows he has ****ed up the game plan and wants to protect his players.
He probably wants Martin gone so he is not putting in the shift!!! Subconsciouosly, this might be the mindset of the other players as well in which case this needs resolving very quickly as the club cannot afford for this pattern to continue. Perhaps Martin needs to listen to his players concerns. If he does, the situation might b improved.
Reason I'm not too upset is because we have the players to go on several 5-6 game winning streaks. And this will get us playoffs. But this league was supposed to be fun. I reckon even Jones would do better with this squad in this league.
I really hope it was just a knock (but nothing serious!). I can't see how anyone could have looked at that first half and decided that he was the problem. Was probably our best player and he wasn't even in his best position. As for Charles, there was a period of about 10 minutes early in the second half, when we had Leicester pushed back, where he took it upon himself to step into midfield. Now if you ignore the fact that it basically left THB as our only defender, the difference in Charles was clear. He just looked so much better there, so much more comfortable. Chalk and cheese to those 15 minutes in particular, when he looked dreadful playing some sort of weird RCB centre role whilst KWP was randomly put into CM.
Another poor performance. I’ve said before I don’t think this squad is good enough to make the playoffs. For those who say SR have done nothing but put money into the club, they recouped all that money through player sales! Then followed that with a bunch of (prem reject) loans. RM isn’t a defensive minded coach, I don’t see how he can fix this defence.
Really sums up the lack of leadership in that squad, because there's no other obvious alternative. Bednarek if he's fit would be a better shout, but even then, he doesn't scream captain or leader to me in the same way Stephens does.
That's me for the season folks, they can polish the hairs off my left one. As I now live in the Highlands there's only TV coverage anyway and I can avoid that and there's plenty to do up here. Unfortunately, the Shinty season is closing down but nice long walks and ice hockey should keep me busy. If that's the attitude after that game - we need to sack him, it's not going to get better and I for one have had enough of watching it and looking out for score updates, debating it and so forth. It is a waste of my time and at my age there is little left. Have fun everyone!
Yeah, I don't think he wants to give it to a loan player (which I understand) so it's a tricky one. Would rather have Adams or even Bazunu as captain though. IF KWP sorts his head out, he'd be in for a shout too.
