Interesting thought, with which I agree actually. Mine went to Uni (degree achieved) and also didn't go, they all have equally decent careers. I think it's down to the kids themselves really, although it should never be construed the brightest ones went to Uni. Businesses will take you with or without the degrees, it can come down to just your own level of competence without the degree. Some companies also will even pay for further qualifications if required due to the legal aspect of whatever you do, likewise some professions insist on the degrees, as the profession is naturally incurrent on them.
would have taken me an additional 5-7 years to get my qualifications doing part time/having a sponsored degree. Some days I think that would have been a better route, having more cash/more fun and a cheaper house.
