If were going to push on we need to start winning home games two within 4 days good chance to get 6 points from two home games.
I never like it when pundits tip us to do well. Much though I'd like 6 points from these two home games on the bounce, I reckon we'll do well to get 4 at the most.
After I saw the PNE game and then the great result at Millwall it seemed clear we're better set up to play away. Unless NP has used the international break to change our approach at AG I think 2 draws will be all we get, at best.

I am thinking 3 from next 3 maybe a 4 from 9 pts is not good lower mid table finish .. however 5 pts would be top 6 [6th maybe 5th!]
Not half empty, I'm an admirer of NP and the work he's done so far. But, and it's a big but, what works away obviously doesn't work at home. Teams who come here sit....and wait. That doesn't suit us. Away the onus is on the oppositiion to play.....which does suit us. How NP changes our home approach will be interesting to witness.
He needs to, to be fair, it's not been the best since he arrived.. I think the players have showed small steps in gelling.. I'm hoping the International break has given the players more time to bond.. What I don't want to see if we manage to get a lead, is to sit back and allow them all the possession for us just to defend....that doesn't suit us either..
I agree, however we both know City aren't alone sitting on leads. We don't need another debate of our differing views on why 'it's not been the best'.
Why should there be a debate, .You've said yourself, something works away but not at home, other than set up or coaching...we must have an Ashton Gate ghost!!
Unless we have a major uptick in home performances we can kiss hopes of a top ten finish goodbye. I am not sure what statistics would prove but I would guess our constant failures of gaining 3 points at Ashton Gate are the sole reason why we have constantly ended up towards the bottom of the Championship, and if you factor in our ability to lose points during the last ten minutes of matches it only adds to the bad karma. Where would we be if only we could up the ante at home and add say an extra 20% points wise to our home tally based on our actual performances? Surely we have to be a major "what if" club when it comes down to measuring potential success and if you look back over the last several years at least we are consistent, but in the wrong way to get anywhere. I keep waiting for that season where we come flying out of the gate and maintain the momentum throughout the entire season, but then again I'm sure that was a pig that just flew past my window. Oink.

Nige’s notes: West Bromwich Albion (H) 15 September 2023 Welcome back after the international break and to the first of two home games in four days against West Bromwich Albion and then Plymouth Argyle. The break may only be a weekend without games but it gives everyone chance to refresh physically and mentally ahead of another block of six matches and the players are ready to get back on the pitch. We went into the break off a very satisfying win against Swansea City. It was a performance where we had to stay calm, especially with going behind which was disappointing, but we were very positive and that shone through. A draw wouldn’t have been a negative result but based on how we approached the game and how we were quite creative, I think it’s fitting we won. When you get the desire and the application of the group, in the way that we delivered it at Swansea, then regardless of what the result is, I know that our players are doing everything that they can. Away from home we continue to create lots of chances and we want to take that positive approach into the West Brom game and get that first home league win. Playing at home in front of a packed Ashton Gate is something we should relish. West Brom have had a mixed start to the season but they are a top-class side and we give a warm welcome to Carlos Corberán and his staff and players to Ashton Gate. At the game we will remember those affected by the earthquake in Morocco and the flooding in Libya as we support the British Red Cross’ emergency appeals to help all those impacted by these tragedies. We will also pay tribute to Lisa Fillingham who sadly passed away last month. I only knew Lisa for a brief time but I know she was a dear friend and colleague full of love and joy for so many throughout her 25 years at the club and Ashton Gate. Take care.
