We had too many players who played badly yesterday. McGregor made an arse of the third goal. Whittakker was OK Papac was OK Boogey has become increasingly erratic over recent weeks. Appears to be angling to be punted in the summer. Weir's lack of pace was very apparent. His distribution from defence is woeful as usual. Bartley had a reasonable OF debut. Edu had a shocker of a match. Lost the ball just about every time he got it. Davis has been very poor for the last few weeks. Another one who can't seem to pass at the moment. Diouf played OK Naismith was pretty anonymous before limping off. Lafferty had won me round with his performances at the end of last season and the beginning of this season. However, he seems to have regressed again since the turn of the year, and he was no more effective than Naismith when he replaced him. Jelavic didn't get any service Healy played for about the last 20 mins and suffered from the same lack of service as Jelavic. I think Weiss would have been a better option. He can be a greedy bastard at times, but I felt he was the one player we have who could maybe have done something unusual and sneaked us a goal. After that, who knows how the game would have gone? Our main fault yesterday, and over the last few weeks, is that we don't seem to be able to keep possession of the ball. Our passes go astray, we can't therefore create enough chances and we put our defence under unnecessary pressure. I really don't know where this problem suddenly came from. Weir has long been an advocate of the aimless punt upfield, but guys like Davis and Edu used to be good passers of the ball. I've no idea what the solution is.
