think you could all be right about the line up, but if given the chance(last season was a bit of an anomaly because of injury) TM likes to introduce players to the team gradually so I would expect to see the team that started against Southampton with maybe a couple of surprises on the bench. Think Rigg may not make the bench on this one as he has been on international duty and captaining the U17 in Spain so given his age TM may let him sit this one out. Think Rusyn may take his place on the bench

Ref is Dean Whitestone, reffed our games 3 times and we have lost all 3 :( The latest being when he ****ed us over at Coventry by not noticing either of the fouls before one of their goals

Given Moggas words about Burstow I strongly suspect he will start.

    Which is fine by me.

Just watched it there, my initial thought was.... Willie Nelson's let himself go!

Some bloke Ainsworth mind, he managed to talk for ten minutes and said absolutely nothing :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Don’t think Chelsea would send him here without assurances he’s going to play tbh. More looking forward to seeing Rusyn I think he looks a proper player. Q

Just watched Moggas interview there and he puts it perfectly. We’ve almost accustomed ourselves to playing without a striker and don’t need one - but that’s not to say a striker won’t improve us.

Look at City before Haaland came, brilliant team but they’ve been taken to the next level by having a proper 9 on the pitch. We’re in a really good position now where we have options, we can change our formation at the drop of a hat which we couldn’t last season and I think a lot of people are underestimating how good we’ll be this season.

You're quite right, Mowbray is obviously being careful with the situation.

Players like Clarke and Roberts have adapted to life without a striker and won't suddenly snap back into a different way of playing ...

... ironically winning 5-0 has complicated things even further.

If we'd failed to score, or scraped a win, we'd all be screaming for Burstow. But we could've scored eight on Saturday and it's aways difficult to change at winning team.

QPR seem to hate playing in their own half so a front three and getting the ball forward quickly would seem to be a good plan B ...

    ... or C, D, E or whatever Mowbray comes up with <laugh>

Interesting, defenders and midfield keep it tight get it out quick and test them out

Great position that we’re in now mate, almost frustrating at the same time because I want to see these new lads play and see what they’re about! I think we have so much depth within the squad now we could adapt to a few different formations and have a real game-changing bench.

We could start with Clarke, Burstow and Ba for arguments sake then bring on 3 of Rusyn, Hemir, Roberts, Pritchard, Aouchiche or Dack. I’ve never really thought of it until now but that’s mental.

    Our u21s will be **** hot :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Edit - now that I’ve thought about it again, after a few more sips of Kronenbourg obviously, **** it we’re going to win the league.

He is such a clever football man. Love listening to him when he talks about the opposition and styles of play. I am convinced he could manage a prem team well. He is tactically so good, and he seems to be a brilliant man manager. I dont think I would swap him for anybody at this stage on our journey. Sounds like he is a Burstow fan already as well...

Watch the Boro - QPR highlights on YouTube* mate ...

... Boro, who are poor, opened them up half a dozen times and should've scored a few.

    *Disclamer:
Please be advised Ainsworth is constantly biting his nails which is quite disgusting.

Can’t bloody wait for Saturday! I’m expecting a good performance from the lads for more or less the same reasons that I was hoping for prior to the Southampton game. Every player in every position will be seeing competition for their place now which will hopefully see consistent performances from everyone because they will now see any drop in form could see them replaced. We won’t have players coasting through games thinking “there’s no one to take my place so im always getting picked regardless of my performance” what I liked about Tony’s press conference is that we have a squad now that can be adapted and changed to best meet the challenge of whoever we are facing with a strong bench to change games. I have so much hope and optimism for this season that I haven’t felt for a long time.
As always Thanks @RTB for your efforts with the match day thread. It really sets the scene and builds the excitement! Haway me bonny lads!

Lots of confidence going into this one. Burstow up top instead of Jobe for me, who gets a rest. Subs galore to change things up or put it to bed. Ideally Hemir gets 15-20 mins and does the latter

Ha’way man. Let’s take these apart.
