Totally Any other city would be all over this. People who live in Hull deserve better and those who don’t live in the City know you deserve better.
Off-topic slightly but HCC are absolutely dog **** when it comes to getting anything done efficiently. I don’t know if it reflects a national trend but infrastructure development in Hull is cack. Apparently it’s going to take 3 years for Queen’s Gardens’ renovations to get fully completed and reopened and don’t get me started on the endless road works like Holderness Road and the A63. It seems like anything infrastructure-related takes four times longer than it should in Hull. They went to the trouble of putting in a **** load of bus lanes and bike lanes but East Yorkshire and Stagecoach are still unreliable and traffic is still ****.
Because he wrote the rules in London where he lived for 71 of his years. There was a plaque on the building where he did that but it collapsed a few years ago. A plaque in Hull where he was born and lived for 22 years before leaving for London would be appropriate though. I am sure there would be if he had drafted the first rules of a certain other sport..
Years and years of a lack of joined up thinking. Prinny Quay linked old and new town, the footbridge to nowhere over river hull, put money into developing humber street but it was on wrong side of A63 with poor access. St Stephens killed prinny quay. When the subs for humber st end start to build the foot bridge. It's just little dots of boom and bust according to grant money.
It’s actually on the side of Hull History Centre, which happened to be close to the site of the house he was born in.
