My wife did Camp America as a kid and still talks about it now. Not constantly. Seriously though it sounds like a great experience. Your granddaughter will have some stories to tell no doubt and memories made.
Went to Chitchen Itza today. My main question was how the **** Indiana Jones runs about all day in boots, trousers, long sleeve shirt and leather jacket in that heat and humidity. The Hovitos wouldn't have had to break into a jog to catch me.
Been in Zante since Friday Rained Monday Tuesday today And expecting rain Thursday Friday Saturday Ahhh well still got till 15th September hope a few days sun
Been on Zante since 1st September 2 days sun and breeze 5 days rain and storms This is the third day in a row gale force Winds and little sun Expecting gales tomorrow then the final 3 days hot I hope This is the worst 14 day summer holiday we’ve ever had for bad weather However It is what it is
It happens to us all mate, a few years back 2 weeks in Tenerife, 1 week poured down 2nd week fog that thick you couldn’t see in front of you, following year went to Cypress instead, rained for 2weeks, funnily enough haven’t been back to either
The pubs have got lids on mate. I am sure you can keep yourself entertained with vast quantities of alcohol.
We are off to Fuerteventura in October, meeting up with my other halves family, its during the school holidays and has cost a fortune, wont be booking anything during the school holidays ever again
We've just returned from a short break in a cottage in Jockland, visiting friends who looked after us, as they always have, and it was lovely . . . . even the weather. We had a couple of barbies, using meat from a local farm shop (Balgove Larder, St Andrews) and it was all lovely (the food and the company) - plenty beer (real ales for me) & wine was consumed and we had a jolly good time. Having never been to St. Andrews before (apart from Birmingham's poor version a few times !) we were very pleasantly surprised . . . . it's a lovely place, full of Jocks (I love the Scottish accent), that we'll go back to in the future. Cheers, marra
Beautiful part of the world. Also had one of the best weekends on my life up there when I was a student
Not had a summer holiday this year. I normally try to get away from the North Carolina heat. Heading for a long weekend in New York on Friday. Catching a broadway show and a Peter Gabriel concert then flying into UK for a few days in York then up to Shields for about 2 weeks. Got my tickets for the Cardiff match, sadly the only one I’ll be there for, bad planning on my part.
Like St Andrews very much Gordon, Bowhouse Farm Market is worth a visit if you time it right, think it’s one weekend per month, Fife is such a lovely area especially along the Forth coastline.
We’re off to Tarbert, top of The Mull of Kintyre on Friday, staying in a castle which we hope is as posh as it sounds See the weathers broken just so we can avoid the sunshine, but we’re used to the rain in Bonny Scotland. Looking forward to being spoilt for a week.
I’m 52 next month and did Camp America 3 yrs running in 90,91 and 92 and still talk about it constantly!
