Yes boys and girls, the World Cup Finals starts today. Yes, it’s Rugby Union but should still be an exciting tournament. Unfortunately, England has as much chance of winning it as we, the non brown bag brigade, have of winning the Manc’s Prediction League, none. Favourites seem to be the All Black’s and France but keep an eye out for South Africa and Ireland. Let the Games commence.
Nah, it's a great game if you understand all the rules. Very physical, but incredibly tactical too. Our comp school team went 2 years unbeaten, including beating 6 different public schools, some of whom had specialist rugby coaches who had been top level players back in their day. It was a chance to get stuck into the toffs, legally. And then be treated to a nice tea aftereards of course. All very civilised brutality.

Haha, no mate, I went to the roughest school in the area - it's long since been closed down. But rugby gave us the chance to get properly stuck into the local toff schools.
Not a great game but great to watch. With luck this will set the tone of the World Cup....at least until we play.
