Yet another international break so a lack of league football. Lets hope the boss spends time with his remaining squad putting finishing touches in place, and I mean finishing. Was hoping to see Bamford, Costa and Cooper on their way to Saudi Arabia but no such luck. Costa will end up being paid off and going to sign for someone else on a freebie. Makes me sick. Why did we give him another contract which runs until next June yet we haven’t had him with us for the last 3 seasons as we loaned him out. The delicious irony of Man Utd having yet another player who is accused of beating his girlfriend. Antony gets dropped from the Brazil squad whilst Mason Greenwood is cheered from the rafters by Getafe fans, they love him in Spain, even though all the blowback from the Spanish ladies World Cup debacle. Football fans don’t virtue signal like our media do. The stories about our rats leaving the club are starting to come out. We heard about how Kristensen told fans he was staying whilst speaking to Roma. Marc Roca it now transpires was ringing the sporting Director of Real Betis every day as he couldn’t wait to get out. It also looks like Roca is the most successful of our players out on loan at the moment and the Betis fans love him. His value is rocketing but his contract apparently allows Betis to extend the loan by another season, so Leeds won’t see the value of a transfer fee until June 2025. What a joke. Anyone concerned about the “mental health” of Jordan Henderson who has been upset this week because people have been calling him hurty names. They said he went to Saudi for the money and that he only paid lip service to gay rights and Rainbow Laces etc. He says he went for his career as he felt he was being ignored by Klopp. No mate you are just like all the other money grabbing twats like Neville Shearer Lineker and every player who has taken the Saudi shilling. You talk about being inclusive and diversity yet allow a 16th century tribal culture take over your sport. They hang the gays or throw them from high buildings you profess to support, they behead the trans people you talk big about. Its 2023 and they have only just allowed women to drive (if supervised by a man) the BBC have now normalised Saudi Arabia and forgotten about the way a journalist was murdered and chopped into bits to get rid of the evidence. You are all just a bunch of greedy hypocrites. I have also mentioned in the recent past about the links between the Chelsea owner and the Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund, and why the Saudis seem to be paying way over the odds for Chelsea players. Now this: Chelsea have held talks with the Saudi state airline Riyadh Air over becoming the club's new front-of-shirt sponsor, make your own mind up about fiddling FFFP rules, but silence everywhere in the media now……. So how come Saudi Arabia are able to buy the whole of Golf and now doing the same with football? Well simply because all European governments are stupid and some like Germany even idiotically stupid because they closed nuclear plants and outsourced all their oil and gas requirements to Russia. Which means Germany needs to build coal powered power stations and also held to ransom by Russia for gas. The green lobby broke the system as our politicians are idiots by not fracking and drilling. We all need energy security or you are held to ransom. We have plenty of oil and gas pus we can frack, which means we could get the benefit of high energy prices whilst supplying our own customers with cheap energy. Before the Russian invasion of Ukraine the price for a barrel of oil was $70 now that Russia and Saudis Arabia have a joint partnership the price has risen to $90 so for the last year and more the already crazy Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund is overflowing and pointless keeping their banks any fuller, so they laugh at us and carry on getting wealthier every minute of every day of the year so buy up most of London, New York, Tokyo and sports like football, F1 and golf
Money speaks volumes and the Saudis have the West over the barrell. We need their Airfields etc etc so we can have some dominance in the Middle East whilst keeping Israel in the position where they can do what they want. The world is moving towards green energy cos shady people in the background want it for their profits. Look at a investment bank called Black Rock. It's scary ****.
Why do we have to pay up Costa's contract. Can't we just put him on 'gardening leave'? I don't like the idea of him being fully paid, then going to another club that will prolly pay him the same again - or perhaps more as they don't have t shell out to buy him. If we do pay it up, why not include a clause in the settlement that every penny he earns as a footballer in the coming year gets deducted from his payout - i.e. if he was earning, say, £1m a year with us & we paid it up, then he signed with Crinkly Bottom Cocksuckers on £500,000 pa, then we'd expect him to reimburse us with the £500,000 he's earned. Where's Orta when you need a good(?) clause man?
If this had been Leeds Utd: Local media and social media are kicking off about Chester fans who were chanting, “Lucy Letby is one of our own” when they played Hereford last week. Now I think it’s funny and football humour can be brilliant and spontaneous. However the some see it as being the worst thing you can do. but for years have called Liverpool the bin dippers, Chelsea the rent boys, Spurs the yids, Brighton the gay boys. Its just fans being fans and I don’t think we need a fans policeman
Say his contract is worth £1m in salary if he stays over the course of the remaining 12 months. We say here you go Helda, here's £600k now piss off. We save £400k and he can go and do whatever he wants. We are committed to paying him whatever his salary is for the next 12 months, even if we put him on gardening leave, therefore paying his contract off now represents a saving to the club. Now he may say **** off to our offer of £600k, I want £800k in which case the club have to decide if a saving of £200k is beneficial enough both in financial terms and just not having him around the club to cancel his contract or not
I notice that Kinnear also made short work of the relegation loan clauses by saying we had saved £40m in wages which enabled us to fund the 2 loan players brought in as well as the players we bought and Byram wages….. no mention of the loan fees and sale of Rodrigo, Roberts and Adams etc. so giving the impression that those fees are banked and waiting to be used. He also gave the impression that if we got into difficulty next season regarding FFFP we had the fallback of Gnonto, Meslier and Struijk all £20m who cost peanuts. Is disingenuous a football fans word
I get all that, but my point is aimed at him earning more, elsewhere, during the contract year, after he's been paid off. Using your example, with 'my' clause in place, we'd pay him £600k of the £1m he'd earn if he remained. So he's down £400k. BUT, if he gets signed by another club, & earns, say, £1.5m, then he'd gross £2.1m, meaning we should expect a rebate of the £600k from him, using 'my' clause. He still ends up earning £1.5m, which seems reasonable to me.
and what if he doesn't agree to that clause WJ. Do we keep him around paying his contract off in full, whilst he dicks around in training with whatever squad he gets to train with, kicking footballs constantly against Farke's office window just as an annoyance. Or do we say **** it, here's a lump sump, go and annoy someone else. If he's got a club lined up, then he might be happy to go for a £200k payoff. If he has the potential to sign for a club paying him £1.5m per year, then he could just as easily be inclined to say that I don't want to risk losing that potential contract by hanging around Leeds for 12 months. It swings both ways, we don't want him, he doesn't want to be here (after the club made it obvious over the past 2 seasons that we didn't want him, despite giving him a 4 year contract when he signed), there is a deal to be done, without putting all of the responsibility for the issue on the player
HHmmm Israel the country that is surrounded by people who want to blow it out of existence and yet each time they've been in battle with them they have been totally crushed... it's a country that takes no **** of anyone and doesn't give a fig what anyone thinks, only last week rioting immigrants caused havoc and the Israeli's have already said they will be turfed out.... perhaps our spineless ****s should take a leaf out of their book ....
Is this the same Israel that has broken a huge amount of UN resolutions? Indeed, more than Iraq. They are international terrorists who refuse to follow International law, mainly because it has the backing of the US.
Don't forget the Geneva conventions by using gas weapons on Palestine. Blew up a UN school, Hit the AP off my in the middle east and bordered a humanitarian ship full of school supplies. Let's no forget shooting Ethiopians on the border.
