Can you imagine being the fourth person in a four way conversation with Russel Martin, Kristjaan Speakman and Lee Johnson? not sure i'd understand most of the words they use
Precisely mate. We have so much talent and options now that we can experiment within the first team, rather than in the reserves/U 21's etc. The future is so exciting...
To think, it's only a few years ago we would have been discussing dropping a **** player, but the options to replace him, was with a ****ter player. What a difference to now, its been an unbelievable turnaround really, and I'm loving every minute of it. The future really is bright.
Even under Peter Reid we always knew it was all built on foundations of sand ... ... exciting but destined to fall apart when the booze and adrenaline ran out
Me and the lad were watching the last bits of the warm up before the match on Saturday, when I noticed this happy clapper leading the acknowledgement and praise of the Southampton fans BEFORE the game, I asked the lad WTF is that, he informed me it was there manager,to which I replied he must be insecure, uncomfortable and fearful of his position if he has to do that **** BEFORE the game ffs
I'm bewildered and hoping someone can help. This game kicked off two and a half hours earlier than usual. So the people who leave five minutes early, every 3pm kick off, were well ahead of whatever schedule they're sticking to so rigidly. Yet despite being 4-0 up, playing wonderful football and having just brought on a 16yo local lad some people still decided to leave five minutes early and miss out on a moment of SAFC history that may never be bettered. So, what I'm wondering is, what can people have to get home to that's so massively important ... ... and, if its so compelling, why go to the match in the first place.
Never understood it Smug, even driving 2 hours back to Cumbria wouldn't induce me to leave early. Noticed on Saturday there was literally thousands missed Riggs moment of triumph.
Even if you only live as far away as Durham the match takes up the day if you're being honest. You leave home after an early lunch and don't get home until early evening. What's the massive draw to save half an hour, surely it can't be Ant & Dec or someone baking cakes ffs. Or do people simply do it because they like to feel their time is so vital.
Was that the little girl with braids in her hair? She was smiling and singing the songs as she walked out and when stood in the line. I rewound it for my wife to see and we both said she was making the most of her day and can imagine what she couldn't wait to tell her friends
Yes mate, I was really laughing when she shoved her face in the camera shouting Ha'way the Lads... ... she was absolutely bouncing
Think a lot may have missed 4 out of the 5, only seeing Ekwahs first with them still finishing their drinks for the first, in the queue for the third, finishing their drinks again for the fourth and then on the way home for the 5th
I'd guess the people who miss our goals through queuing for pints ... ... are the same ones who complain about how crap the beer is.
And with either foot - not many footballers can do that as comfortably as him. The second goal started with him taking a free kick in the RB position with his left foot for Ba to win his header to Bellingham.
True that. Doesn't get much recognition for his talent but if he's playing CB what more can he do to impress than ping it about on both feet, maintain a high passing accuracy and very rarely give it away. All of which he does, as well as defending superbly.
I don't got to the match as often as I like, I don't live in the North East and find the cost of it all in a bit much. As a kid we only went a few times a year and one thing that used to annoy me is my Dad would do exactly this 5 - 10 minutes to go we would be on our way down the stairs heading for the exit. So he could miss the traffic or beat the queues or whatever the reason was that time. The reality was he can't stand crowds of people so would feel like he was beating it by leaving early.
Never got this. Live 5 hours away and whenever I get to the SOL I don’t leave until full time and I’ve never once been stuck in traffic so bad it’s inconvenienced me
