Thiago can absolutely fit into this midfield. His ball winning / duel involvement is on par with Mac and Dom, so that's not the issue.

The only issue with him is availability. He can now actually be a luxury player where we don't need to run him into the ground.

Indeed. He's squad-level price, brings experience and leadership to a young midfield. Bit early to rule out his performances, he'll be more useful in some games than others, but more importantly brings depth so Macca doesn't have to defend when we have injuries/rotation.

I find it funny when the fans (generally - I'm not thinking of anyone particular here) complain about lack of squad depth then complain when players brought in precisely for that reason aren't worldies.
We can't maintain two full teams of top quality, but we can have competent squad players who can do a job when called upon.
Endo is still adjusting to the pace and physicality of the PL. The poor guy was literally thrown in at the deep end, so we need to give him some time to adjust before we write him off.
Of course some had written him off before he started because he wasn't Caicedo, but the latter is floundering far worse so far.

I went out straight after the game and didn't see any of the post match stuff. Watching this, I've only just noticed that Martinez got a hand to Mo's cross that Nunez missed. Silly me, it doesn't look so bad now.

Yeah,a fingertip that Darwin couldn't quite adjust to.

    The initial ball from Trent.......sensational

Yeah, that was funny. Nunez clearly going with his foot initially but the keeper gets a touch forcing Nunez to try and head it instead. Already in midair, he can't do anything about his movement <laugh>

But that doesn't fit the narrative though Saint..

Jim Beglin made a comment after that chance sying something along the lines of 'the real Darwin is back' ...

Beglin is another of those dickheads who come out with the "he has to score there" whenever someone misses a chance, or "he's got to do better" at a misplaced pass or tackle. As though he got everything right all the time. <doh>
You'd think ex players would know how easy it is to miss something by a split-second at the pace they're playing.
The problem with their nonsense is that it can give younger fans the impression that the players are bad and they then get into the culture of slagging people off when it doesn't quite work out.

    Just re watching MoTD
I not so sure Trent’s positioning isn’t just basically switching to CB when he comes in lol
