    VIP SATURDAY

    1.35 CHESTER - LORD BERTIE 11/8 - 2 point win

Up in class but looks a proper horse this one. Lightly raced, made his debut against Chaldean and has since ran in class after taking a year off. Just seems to have everything on his side today. He won by nearly 15 lengths LTO so this step up in grade shouldn’t be too much of an issue, the grounds spot on, he’s running out of stall 1. Can’t see what beats him on these terms.

    2.25 SANDOWN - HEREDIA - 10/3 - 1 point win - SAVER - NIBRAS ANGEL 10/1 - 4 paid - 0.5EW

Saver here on NIBRAS ANGEL who I napped the other week. A horse with plenty of potential but completely thrown in at the deep end today. Would of preferred to see this one go through the gears, instead we have gone from class 5 to a group race which is a huge gap in class. We will see what the horse is made of today.

Shouldn’t need to say to much about HEREDIA, we were on when she picked up a group win the other week and she can follow that up today. Race looks a bit more difficult but I think theres even more to come.

    4.17 NEWTON ABBOT - SEBASTOPOL 4/1 - 1 point win

Fell again at Newbury for what I think was the 4th time in his career, we were also on last year when he fell at the final fence about 10 lengths clear. Familiar with this horse but not familiar seeing him in this type of company. He’s won a grade 2 last year, a listed race and ultimately he achieved a lot more than anything in this line up. Should be the favorite in my opinion but that accolade goes SONGO who is stepping up and is the obvious danger.

    5.15 CHELMSFORD - MASQOOL 16/1 (365) 3 places - 10/1 SKY (4 places) - 0.5 EW

MASQOOL returns to last winning trip at 1m 2 and is a big price at 16/1 for this apprentice handicap. Nearly back down to last winning mark, he should be able to get in the mix again today. From what I can see Joe Leavy is the only apprentice that has previously won on his horse today.

    5.20 SANDOWN - MOJOMAKER 13/2 - 3 paid - 0.5 EW

Rossa Ryan rides MOJOMAKER who is down in class today. Touched of by half a length, why has he been eased a 1lb for that run? I don’t understand as would of thought it would of gone the other way round. He’s put together a number of good efforts of late but is in the midst of a long losing streak in handicaps. This looks winnable on these terms if he runs like he did in Scotland last week.

    7.45 CHELMSFORD - PHILOS 10/1 - 3 paid - 0.5 EW

PHILOS form read 332211 before a duff effort at Lingfield with a claimer on board. Still racing in class 6 currently PHILOS has only gone up 5lbs for that purple patch of form and with Hollie Doyle booked for tonight's ride, 8 runners, 3 paid, this one looks more than good enough value to attempt.

Few from Ste for today at Bangor.

1500 Bangor- QUID PRO QUO 15/8 - 1 point win

Pulled up on his first two starts this year before finishing last on his third but he's been pretty consistent since getting off the mark over fences nto over 2m 4f and he was a decent runner up on his two starts after, the form of his latest start when third also brings some confidence with the winner, runner up & the one behind all winning since. Goes off the same mark here, yards horses are running reasonably well, conditions suit & going by his last few starts this step up in trip could bring on more improvement.

    1535 Bangor - THE BIG JETAWAY 6/4 - 1 point win

Probably needed the run when returning from 204 days off switched back to hurdles when third of 14 over 1m 7f in June with the winner going in nto and he built on that when going one better back there a month later again behind a nto winner, went off 9/4 fav back over fences nto over 2m 1f we're he was a comfortable winner with the one behind winning since and he was a easy winner here over CD on his start after despite making a fair few mistakes, returned to hurdles on his latest start coming here over a furlong further when a 17 length winner & this looks like another good opportunity for him to rattle off the 4 timer back over fences off a 5lb higher mark.

    VIP BANGOR

One from Aidan today. I have nothing in tracker and did poor last mid week so bit of help from the lads for Bangor. I have two longshots I’m trying at Goodwood will be posted around 12 latest. Golf out either tonight or tomorrow for the Irish open ✅

    4.10 - CHOIRMASTER 10/3 (1 point win)

Proving to be a consistent sort over hurdles and showed he can dig down deep when staying on gamely to beat an inform rival MAX OF STARS when the pair left the rest clear over course and distance at the end of last month. Been given a 6lb rise for that success which seems fair but this improved may well still be ahead of the handicapper at the moment and with cheekpieces applied may find something else as well so looks worth sticking by.

That was cosy. Didnt get anything like the price you did, 9's. The SP 11/2. Not so much a whisper as a shout for that one.

I recognised the name of the horse, Fahey trained for Marwan Koukash. A quick google to find out how come it had changed stables and owners. Bankrupt.

VIP - 0.5 EW - BEAU ROCK 9/1 - 3 paid Lots of racing but finding it tough to find bets myself today. Two longshots posted last night and I also like this one. Will keep looking and see what drops in from the lads. 8 runners here and 3 paid gives good value to attempt BEAU ROCK who is 3lbs above LWM. Her last two runs have NOT been promising whatsoever so we need her to bounce back with tongue strap applied for the first time and she is back at winning C&D. She seems evidently best at 5 furlongs and most importantly today Billy Loughrane and his 3lb claim are brought to the party. He piloted the win here at Bath in July when BEAU ROCK last made a winning appearance.

    Well did nothing

    8.00 Kempton - *FINEST LEADER* (3/1)

A strong message for this Charlton trained horse who has now won the last three times for us and is still felt to be very well treated off a mark of 82.

I'm more than happy to take on the favourite here who is up in trip and was keen last time. That is going to be even more of an issue this Wednesday over this stiffer test and in this smaller field with an obvious lack of pace.

Finest Leader will be ridden handily again however, is well drawn and with Buick in the saddle connections are confident he can land the four-timer for us.

    VIP THURSDAY

    3.40 SALISBURY -
    SOPRANO 9/2 - 2 point NAP
UNBREAK MY HEART 33/1 - 0.5 EW SAVER.

SOPRANO only has one win in her career and that was on debut at 5 furlongs where she brushed aside some horses that have gone on to decent achievements, notably Midnight Affair. Since then it’s been runner up accolades in group 3 and listed contests and the horse is becoming expensive to follow.

The 3rd place in the Albany at Ascot is the best form piece on offer here. The second place SOPRANO has behind Fallen Angel in the Solera Stakes is arguably better than any other piece of form other than MIA HARRIS’S effort at Newbury recently. She is the main danger here as she steps up in trip and did all her best work on the line LTO and the one we need to beat.

We tried DOROTHY LAWRENCE at York she ran a huge race at York and should be competitive again but the saver EW I fancy here at a big price is UNBREAK MY HEART at 33/1. She finished 3rd, 4 lengths behind STAR OF MYSTERY ar Newmarket in a listed after winning a class 4. I can’t understand why she’s a bigger price than some of the other unbeaten horses who haven’t done anything yet outside class 5. I’d rather take my chance with a horse that has ran at this level and ran respectively. Theres 4 places paid here so worth a small saver.

Ryan Moore is booked to ride SOPRANO today, I’m hoping he can be the difference maker to get us into the winners enclosure today. I know how highly the yard rate SOPRANO, for someone who has done well with 2 year olds this year, this is the one they expected the most from. You can tell they still have faith in SOPRANO as they have a multitude of Group 1 entries lined up for her moving forward including the Juddmonte Stakes and the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes at Newmarket. Both those races will be a waste of time if she can’t win this or even worse if she loses today she will be double digit figures for those races if she still runs and will tempt me to go again. Lets just hope she does the business today.

It’s a risky NAP and saver here so lets hope it pays off.

1615 Salisbury- FRANKNESS 5/1 - 1 point EW or win if shorter odds

One from Ste he has one more for us tonight posted soon

Followed FRANKNESS since her debut when third of 6 at Newmarket and she didn't disappoint nto winning at chester before returning there with another win on her start after, thrown into a group 2 on her next start when going off 11/4 but looked way out her depth finishing last of 8, returned this year after 223 days off back in group company where she again struggled finishing 9 of 16 over 7f and despite winning over 6f at goodwood in June she's been largely disappointing although she has had excuses on her two most recent starts, drawn wide here and she's 4lb higher than for her latest win but I still think she can improve further and although this looks a trappy race I think she's worth siding with. JUST BRING IT in the 1645 is another from me tracker I think can go well today.

    VIP THURSDAY

    4.40 HAYDOCK - ROYAL MILA 13/8 - 1 point win

Appleby has thrown two decent darts at this but they will have to be very good to give ROYAL MILA 7lbs on handicap debut. Marquand is in brilliant form and has been on both of these unbeaten horses runs so far. Bred out of Nathaniel, this one looks very good. Big step up in class today as we find out how good she actually is.

    6.05 CARLISLE - APIARIST 11/4 - 1 point win

Nobody seems to want this horse today other than me and it’s drifted out to 11/4 now as the market can’t make it’s mind up who should be favourite for the race. This horse has demonstrated some ability but was still quite green at Thirsk LTO and this cost him the race. He was a shorthead behind the Fahey horse who looks progressive himself. APIARIST was way too keen early but was able to push the winner right to the line. Needs to beat his stablemate Victory Shout and Silent Move who is the only horse that's won at this current class. Good price and value at 11/4 in my opinion for a bet.
