I really don't understand this **** they're doing in France banning girls wearing "abaya dress." Can't see a logical reason as to ban girls turning up to school in, essentially, a dress. Just strikes me as another excuse for the French gov to just **** on Muslims and make their time in France just a little bit more uncomfortable and punishing.
France is a very secular country though you do wonder if it is enforced as strictly with other religions
That's a very sweeping statement if taken as written, if you read further where the school part comes into it then the question of uniform code comes into it if schools only. Needs more info to make a judgement.
But in France, much like here in Norway, you can wear whatever you like to school. This goes from full on goth kids, to kids in crop tops barely covering a thing. Then you have someone in Abaya being told to go home and put some jeans on. It appears this is heavily pushed by right wing Conservative Christian political parties.
