Is anyone else noticing a budding onfield relationship between Salah and Darwin? I think the more they play together, the goals will come pouring in.
I think he'd be superb in the middle of the 3 in a 4-2-3-1, but with an energetic, box-to-box pair behind and around him.
I love Thiago But no for me He doesn’t have a place in this midfield We always adapt to Thiago when he is on the pitch and as I have said a few times it takes the team multiple games to get used to having him there Then we look great for a half of football then he gets injured Thiago quite simply put for me isn’t worth the hassle So - for me I would be keeping him away / loaning him out or using him as a coach/snr to teach the kids but not on the pitch Will not deny he was a very talented player but those days are gone imho
I think it's one of those "if he's not great he's ****" moments that many fans seem to have. Endo is unlikely to set the world alight, but if he can do a job when required we can't ask for more. He's our player now, so I'll get behind him like I try to do with them all.
he's ideal for the European tour now between now and January and then let him go off to Spain. Our midfield could soon be: Szoboszlai Macallister Gravenberch (or some such organisation of the same) In reserve then we have Elliott Endo Jones (and probably just like that form right to left) thiago now sticks out of the guy with no berth when we consider bajectic is not even being mentioned.
Thing with thiago is, when you look at all his stats, he actually wins the ball a hell of a lot. Guy isn’t quick and can’t play 100mph every week but with the right players around him if he’s not expected to constantly be pressing he can do his fair share of defensive work. As he gets older and more injured expect those stats to drop but he more than has a place in this squad. See him more in the DM role like Mac though where isn’t a true DM winning the ball though
I agree. He's absolute quality and a joy to watch. I almost don't care whether or not he fits in with the new arrivals ( I actually think he will), I want to watch the very best. As I said the other day, I get as much satisfaction from the small things as the big. Thiago's goal against Porto is one of the best goals I've ever seen and almost without doubt, the best struck ball I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot.
God no Thiago is very careless with his passing at times and when playing LCM has regularly passed to the CB's without looking leading to chances to oppo . He actually did it 3 times in 2 games leading to full blown chances
He reads the opposition very well and often unexpectedly (to the opposition player) goes "the wrong side" to nick the ball. Great when it works but looks a mug when it doesn't.
this squad thing is simple. you've 6 games to get through. what do we want out of those 6 games other than win the lot easily,? do we want to piss off thiago, piss off gravenberch or not use doak? my view is simple enough. over those 6 games the level of opposition are poor. do we really think we need Adrian who is an old man who is creaking? if alisson was out match 1 and kelleher match 2 I personally would be far more worried about Adrian playing in the prem than jaros or pitaluga playing in the europa. I'd 100% drop Adrian out. we can always say the squad is up for change in january to him and say we just want doak to play the early games to develop and then we will see in January. this should be telling us there's.more changes to come in January and next summer. Adrian should really really be in his final year. a hg keeper is a must. thaigo will be gone matip will be gone. next year doak will be on the b list as he will meet the requirements. this is a temporary problem of our own making last July by giving Adrian a contract and by buying who we wanted to buy on deadline day. seriously, if we start jaros in all 6 games I'd have absolutely no qualms about it. did you lot even watch preseason games?
