A good TV personality and a reputation for his charitable work.
Loved cricket, but nobody is perfect.

An amazing list of people he'd interviewed, many of whom became friends.
I knew he'd become mates with the Big Yin, but was surprised to find he'd had him on his show fifteen times.

    A life well lived.

Besides bottling up over 4 litres of sloe gin earlier, today, I have been digging tatties (thats about a quarter of them).

    Hoover Easy Logic washing machine.
    Born March 2006
    Died August 2023
Although needing TLC in later life, it served me well. How many City shirts were washed in that time?
Although it's demise was expected it still leaves a dent in the wallet, I can do without.
    RIP washing machine

With you at this difficult time BT.
I can empathise as I've overseen the demise of many a drum.
Stay strong. Perhaps go out for a spin to take your mind off your loss.

Come on, own up. It died through old age, not too much use.

I can say that without fear of challenge having to sit by you at City games. The shirts normally come under their own steam and arrive 20 minutes before you.

Don't know if remote us getting a similar heatwave but was wonder how it affects the harvest by the farmers around him.

    28 here today.
Not affecting us too much after the rain we had in July and August.
Been hoping for some dry, warm weather so we can get some hay in. It'll be ready to bale 48 hours after mowing in this heat. Hopefully get 4 acres in this week which should see us through lambing.

    Horrible stuff.:emoticon-0119-puke:

I did bottle my sloe gin last week. Done a bit of quality control.
Don't seem to be a lot of berries on the trees this year.

With you regarding cider. Can't stand it.
Was the sloe gin up to standard?

Sloe gin very good this year.
Another month and I'll be picking berries again.
I never put the full amount of sugar in when making it, so usually have to put a bit more in during bottling, on the taste test.
Easy to add sugar at tasting. Impossible to take it out.

Sloes are really bitter so need a lot of sugar.
    A bit like rhubarb.
Anything that needs that amount of sugar to make it palatable can not be good for you.<laugh>

Not drunk rum since the last time I went to Florida, about 20 years ago. Half the holiday was an incoherent blur.
