Was it him who cheated to get O’Nien booked too? Or was that the other Armstrong?

I don't know the match finished before I figured out which was which <laugh>

Safe to say neither is worth the best part of 20 mil though.

Magic when that happens, I had a similar view and the same experience as Vic Halom smashed that one against Man City back in 73, the view of that goal is the first thing that springs to mind whenever I remember that fabulous night of nights.

To be fair they signed Armstrong on back of about 40 in 2 year at Blackburn, he’s a very decent player.

Holgate was ****ing woeful by the way, he was ‘the next Stones’

    More like kidney stones.

Saturday had me thinking back to the days we introduced Rowell, Arnott, Elliott, Chisholm to a very average team. We thumped, West Ham, West Brom and Middlesbrough. These kids have zero fear and play with complete freedom. We just bought another load on Friday. Exciting times ahead.

I actually loved Sunderland more than ever at the end of that season.
Then Coventry came into my life.

Anyone think we might get double figure goals tally out of Pierre.
Not wishing to add extra pressure on the lad but he has the lot this kid.

Strong possibility of it, he's well on the way already and pulls the trigger at every opportunity. Hopefully rubs off on Neil a bit especially the confidence to have a go.

That is a great thing though. When it’s difficult to pick a MotM in a 5 - 0 win, it’s great!

To think a team that cost peanuts, can do that, great time to be a SAFC fan
