Pollution only affects people and wildlife, they are expendible in this governments eyes. It does not not affect money which is far more important in this government's eyes. The cold hard cash is always Mr. Right as Madonna once sang :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Gove was on PM this evening, said it was a "win win". Utterly devoid of any conscience or morals.

Did he explain how it was a win-win?

The fact is every decision in government has a winner and a loser, but we forget about the loser when it's what we want winning.

What are the chances of this happening ...

... somewhere between zero and nil would be my guess.

"A Tory donor has been told to demolish all or part of his five-star hotel that hosted the signing of the Brexit deal after breaching planning regulations.

The council said it was “disappointed that these works were undertaken on the site without planning permission”.
The Fairmont Windsor Park Hotel played host to the signing of the Windsor Framework in February, where Rishi Sunak and Ursula von der Leyen agreed on post-Brexit trading arrangements for Northern Ireland."

Quite high. The planning system is currently crippled by lack of manpower so lots of places are making decisions on the assumption they'll get retrospective permission if they get rumbled.

"More than 800 migrants crossed the Channel on Saturday, breaking the record for the number of arrivals on a single day this year.

Border Force officers are now on alert for a surge in small boat crossings this week after provisional Home Office data showed that some 872 migrants crossed on Saturday in just 15 boats."

So 15 incidences of 50-60 people gathering to go to a location to get in a boat which also had to be taken to that location. Are we supposed to think a) you have to admire the smugglers for their expertise in keeping it all invisible, or b) the authorities are conversely useless with vehicles , boats, helicopters at their disposal either don’t use them or are just not bothered

Assoon as we voted to leave the EU we simply made everything worse.

The French just take us for mugs now tbh ...

    ... I'm surprised anyone's surprised tbh.

We should be cutting off the French money immediately. Sorry lads, you're doing nothing to stop these boats and we now need that money to look after everyone you're deliberately allowing to cross.

Sad to say it, but we also need to be taking a harder line on both who we pick up and what we do with them after they've illegally entered the UK and are therefore criminals who shouldn't be eligible for asylum. Immediate return.

I don't think we pay the French anything, as far as I am aware the Sandhurst Agreement collapsed three years ago.

I thought I just read the other day it was something like £480 mill could be wrong though. Might of been what MPs trousered through tax avoidance.

We pay a fortune and have just increased the payments.

"Britain is to pay France almost half a billion pounds over the next three years in a high-stakes gamble to end Channel migrant crossings."

It’s like all crime though. Some get caught some don’t. It’s like saying ‘I promise I will stop all crime’. Some thicko’s might believe you then they get angry when someone scratches their car and doesn’t get caught so shouts and puts it on Facebook. When will people realise shouting ‘stop the boats’ is just a diversion and will never happen. I’m going to put a sandwich board on and walk around saying ‘stop travelling in cars’ and see how long it is before I get sent to an and e for assessment.
