Ah so I think I get it - Joe and Tonali are supposed to work hard either side of Bruno to give him protection but all other teams are doing is targeting and pressing him, which is something we need to change by bringing him into a double pivot or putting him further up the pitch where his mistakes aren’t so heavily punished. It’s another indication we’ve become tiresomely predictable under Howe. The Miggy 1-2 is actually a joke now.
Isak's a huge talent, but is completely isolated. Playing against Newcastle is just too easy. Close down Bruno, keep Almiron on his right, and don't bother with Newcastle's left hand side. Opponents end up looking like they've got 1 or 2 more players on the pitch.
Isak is exactly what Sociadad fans said.... absolutely useless 4 games out of 5....he's not the great player people think imo.... he's better than most our players though. A winner doesn't lose at guess who to lascelles either.
The beauty of the Barnes transfer is that he's highly reliant on a sharp 1-2 for any kind of effectiveness himself.
A bit of both. A lot of players will be away on duty. Meaning training will be disjointed. But also a good time to reflect on things.
