10th was his record last season. Argue all you want. If you want a more complete picture we were 20th on form prior to his arrival.
I don't disagree. But watching him force it last season made it very poor for the fans watching. If it proves to be the foundation of a successful season this year then maybe it was worth going through.
I’m not arguing I’m pointing out you continuously bang on about 4th best defence and tenth overall but omit the attacking stats Then there’s a complete picture as Jim said it was pretty poor and boring to watch for the most part It needed to be done, shore up the defence but even tan was quoted as saying need to ease the handbrake off around feb time
Then we lost all our strikers, and it's since been addressed this window as Tan has chosen to back him based on his record last season. It's fair enough to say it was boring or frustrating. That's an opinion that anyone is free to hold. I'm just arguing it was far from 'dire'.
Lack of "strikers" has not been addressed in this window, we have less and I really hope it doesn't bite us in the arse as I'm sure there will be periods where we don't have delep and or Connolly available
Creativity in forward areas hopefully has. I'm a bit disappointed with Oscar leaving without a 3rd option in the building as I've alluded to before. Just gotta hope Delap stays fit and wait and see what Tan was alluding on RH before Leicester in the January window.
On RH, Tan alluded to planting some 'good seeds' for January. We obviously tried to sign Davis but probably lost out too late to do much else, so I'm assuming they'll look to strengthen there in Jan.
When I played there, there were no inmates allowed to watch, though several warders were around the pitch to make sure someone didn't escape, 3 warders played in the team, and really gave the inmates playing a hard time if they committed a foul or misplaced a pass.
Played rugby against them a few times. Only dirty players on the pitch were the warders. Also played against just the warders at Wakefield prison. They were the dirtiest team I’ve ever played against.
Assuming Tan tells the truth just for the record , Davis wanted to test himself in Serie A even though he could have gone to several more lucrative locations .He also said we were his ‘first’ UK choice if he stayed , so we didn’t eff up , unless we offered a derisory amount . Tan also said we have identified January targets already . this might end the usual crap we get on ITK and guesswork On a separate note had we played the way some wanted last season we’d have lost Saturdays game about 4-1 , we’d have been more expansive and paid for it .
But on Saturday we did play how I reckon most of us wanted us to play last season! I wasn't happy with how we played last season (under Rosenior). Our attacking phases were so poor and we totally overdid the playing out from the back. By contrast, Saturday was near bang on. A much more balanced, sensible approach re playing out from the back (bar a couple of hairy moments), meaning a good mix of playing short, mid, long, wide, early, etc. and our attacking phases were far better with us getting the ball out wide or up front much quicker. That's not just down to better players, as most were the same as last season.
