It is depressing that people still can’t engage with opinions rather than a perception of the nature of the poster. It is really pathetic. “When you say x I think you are being too harsh because y” is so much better than “oh god here go the CrAzIeS again”.
Anyway - I've found the bit in the Echo where Russell Martin accepts responsibility for defeat so I retract my previous statement. Still doesn't let him off the hook with me though - I was positive, and now I'm not, a defeat is a defeat, but 5-0 on TV, to a team that hasn't started the league on fire is not good enough. A couple of more like this and the die will be cast (with me).
It's playing those unfamiliar players in an unfamiliar system that's the issue. To much to soon, learn the lesson, draw the line, move on.
I always say it is ok to make mistakes. That is how we learn. Yesterday there were a catalogue of mistakes IMO, let’s see if RM and the team learn. Being of a positive nature I think they will.
Think what you are saying is we need to create a spine in the team. And Charles is the middle part of that. TBH is likely that, Bazunu isn’t but ignore that for now. And AA isn’t either. That for me will come, but Charles has to be our CDM. Che or Stuart up too. and the rock at the back.
I just wish you lot could all get along and not fall out amongst yourselves. Im not angry, just a little disappointed.
Should have but will we that’s the point. I couldn’t believe how much space we had behind us. I think if we play like against Leicester it Will be another 9-0 to them.
Not only are we not getting clean sheets we have conceded the most goals in the championship. So that isn’t the result of one game but more. We might win more than we loose but we can’t keep conceding goals like we are
Wouldn’t say there’s been a whole lot of learning thus far as it’s not like this is the first game we’ve been wide open and look like conceding every time we lose the ball. Difference is our superior quality of player has got us some last minute goals in other games while our opposition have failed to put away their chances. Not having a meltdown about it, I expected yesterday was likely to be tough, thought we could easily lose it, but am pissed off that we got thrashed and haven’t seemed to learn anything yet. In theory this international break comes at the perfect time for us to learn from the mistakes of our set up and play, and gives those players just brought in time to get up to speed, and Che&Sulemana time to get their head back in the game.
Correct, it's 2. I accept we need to improve significantly with defence but I'm not very worried yet. THB will improve things and hopefully Martin will have worked out we need Charles in midfield.
On my feed yesterday, the commentator said RM had been asked if he had a plan B. if plan A was not working, RM said he did not have a plan B, and Plan A just has to get better.
Equally you could say when we come up against two of the 'better' sides in the division we conceded 9 goals. If this pattern follows, no matter how many we score the next game we should concede at least 3 or possibly more as Leicester are one of the favourites for the title, although they've only scored 7 to our 10 they have conceded 4 in the same amount of games.
But football doesn't work that way. Otherwise we would never have beaten Chelsea or Spurs or Man City.
