It's not really the defeats, we have played 3 great sides. It's the manner of them, we just capitulate. Against Brighton we were just ****, we could not be ****ed. Magpie tried to defend Almirons deflected cross as a good bit of play. But Liverpool? I'll never get over it. League Cup final vibes. Manager was ****ing hopeless, players looked confused, subs were ****ing disgusting and to top it off, his comments after the game were a joke. We were just **** last night and that will get better, but against Pool we got everything wrong. That's concerning
Nah mate, ffp doesn’t quite work like that. It takes the last 3 years into account but you can only have a loss of £105m for pl and £45m for cl.
1. Barnes. His package was probably cheaper than Diaby particularly on salary. 2. Priority position. Max was sold to free up some money to spend. As Max was sold he needed to be replaced. Barnes was available on a package we could afford. Diaby obviously not. Barnes was a tried and tested PL player, Diaby was not. Tonali essentially replaces Longstaff. Many fans were wanting Longstaff replaced and Tonali is an exceptionally good player. Who needed replacing more Longstaff or Miggy? Club decided Longstaff. I’m not going to argue they were wrong. 3. No we don’t have 3 years to balance the books. We have to do it now. The PL have already altered the rules to try and block us and our Owners obviously want to avoid bad publicity and succeed whilst complying with the rules. No point in breaking the rules now and then being knocked back because of the penalties imposed in a year or two AND getting the bad publicity as opposed to taking a year or two longer to get there but then being able to sustain it as we can’t be knocked back as we’ve done nothing wrong. Also wouldn’t you prefer that we succeed after having complied with the rules than not. I would. 4. Adidas deal will make a difference, next season when it actually starts. Doesn’t change anything now. 5. Formation wise I have posted that same formation on another thread just this morning. Player wise the players would probably not have complied with wage/revenue targets. To be clear, I don’t mind fans complaining. It just has to be after taking into account all factors and be reasonable and not OTT. Some complaints, IMO, on here are sadly failing in that regard.
In defence of Howe, what was he supposed to say? The players were rubbish. The players didn’t try. Pope made not one but two amateurish mistakes for the first goal. Footballers today seem, along with their over inflated bank balances and egos, to have very sensitive feelings. Criticism outside of a dressing room has ended many a manager’s tenure in the past. What he said to the media is not important. What is important is what he said to the players. And that we will never know.
I'd love to know what he said at half time, because for the third game in a row we've gotten worse when we come out for the second half, then straight into baffling substitutions. I'm convinced the better players are ****ed off that the Summers recruitment lacked any kind of ambition.
Players did not listen to Howe yesterday. He was screaming at them to close fown and press. They played like they had spent the night before on the lash. Trippier was a ****ing disgrace. Miggy - I have had enough of him. He is ****e.
Tonali lacked ambition? Hall lacked ambition? Did you read the reaction of Milan and Chelsea fans? Nobody is saying the last two results haven’t been poor results but as the Hillbilly said you have to have perspective and not go OTT.
We've got Roland highlighting issues along with myself and others which is fine and we've got the people that want to believe everything is going perfectly which is also fine.
Bruno is losing his cutting edge due to being pissed off. Can see it written all over his body language.
Compare our Summer to that of Villa. We finished in the CL places and managed to do a significantly worse job than they did. And, yes, Hall isn’t ambitious. It’s a highly rated young left back currently third choice behind Burn and Targett! Livramento and Barnes were frankly boring.
It's still too early to say we've had a bad window because Howe hasn't played the signings yet. He needs to get our best 11 football players on the pitch and worry about everything else after that.
Jesus wept, we absolutely stuffed Villa ffs! Livramento and Barnes will be assets, I’m sure, as will Hall.
Howes got reason to play them now... I have a feeling the solution will always be playing longstaff instead though. For Newcastle to have players worth 40 million benched every week is odd.
